A friend turned me on to this. I do believe that it does the best job of moisturizing the desert that is my hands and feet of any product I've ever tried, no matter the price I paid! And, fer cryin' out loud, I'm 64 yrs old! You get a huge tub of the stuff for little money. There is no petroleum product in it at all. I have to be careful when putting it on my hands, as it is very thick and very moisturizing, so once I rub it into my hands, I use a damp washcloth to remove whatever is on the *inside* of my hands because I hate that greasy feeling. I put it on at night and by morning my skin is soft and the stuff has disappeared. It keeps my hands moist all day without being greasy. (I wash my hands lots during the day due to my work.) It works amazingly well on dry feet also. Honestly, the stuff is great! Go ahead and try it. Read more

This stuff is fantastic, wish I had discovered it years ago. I mostly use it for lip balm, for which it is perfect. All natural ingredients, and a jar this size should last for many years if that is all you use it for. I also think it makes a wonderful final step eye cream. I use my serums, then a couple drops of oil, then I seal everything in with some Waxelene. Works perfectly. Also great for any area with dry skin. If I ever manage to use up this huge jar, I will absolutely buy more. EDITED after also buying a FLIP-TOP TUBE to carry in my purse: The flip top tube is very handy to carry in your purse or pocket, and surprisingly large (double or triple the size of a normal lip balm container). Obviously, you pay far more per ounce to buy it in a tube, but for me, the convenience is worth the extra cost to have it ready to go in my pocket without having to unscrew the lid on the little jar I was hauling around for away from home use. I first came across this product nearly 9 years ago at Whole Foods, It’s an excellent product. The price of it back then? $25 per 9 ounce jar. I used this product as a diaper ointment for my son for a few years. Fast forward a few years my daughter was born and I decided to continue this product because of such great success for my son. By this time, Whole Foods no longer carried it and I purchased it directly. The price: $50 per 9 ounce jar. So I decided to take the 5 jar deal at $40 per 9 ounce jar. That lasted a few years. Here we are today. The price per 9 ounce jar is $80 and no special deals. No buy more, save more. Nothing. I suspect despite product success the company is having financial shortfalls or experiencing an abundance of greed. For a product that works well, I recommend. These next 2 jars I buy will hopefully be my last cause that’s some seriously expensive but ointment. For a product that is overpriced I do not recommend. A 9 ounce mixture of beeswax, soybean oil, rosemary oil, and vitamin E oil, organic or not, don’t cost $80. Read more

Well...this stuff is just the best kept secret out there. I have waited a while to write a review because I am always concerned that my favorite little natural products will get too popular and then swallowed up by one of the corporate big guys only to change their formula and ruin my life! But alas, it is selfish of me to keep this little gem to myself. Simple put, this is the BEST vaseline alternative out there. Hands down. I have used other options because I love what vaseline does. It is a perfect skin protectant and moisture barrier. I discovered that using vaseline was an excellent preventor of diaper rash when my kids were babies and staved me off from having to use those medicinal creams. It also was a great overnight option for my very dry feet or our family's chapped lips. But then I became leary of petroleum jelly and how it may harm out bodies. So I set out to find a petroleum-free product. I have tried all the options found in big-box stores but most feel VERY sticky and waxy. baby-ganics makes a decent one, but I didn't like it enough to keep buying it once my little one was older. So I kept searching. Funnily enough, this one is called Waxelene and it is the least waxy of them all! It has a perfect texture. It is thick and very pronounced like you would expect from something that is a petroleum jelly alternative, but it doesn't leave you feeling like a lint-roller once you have applied it. I initially bought it in the small tubes in a local store to try it as a lip balm. I then became obsessed and bought them for everyone I knew....AND THEN I FOUND THE JAR! BUY THE JAR! You will love it. It has a clean, pleasant smell, a small dab works great on the lips and it eventually absorbs. It provides the moisture barrier that you are looking for, but you can feel really good about knowing that it's safe. BUY the Jar...trust me! Read more

I like the quality ingredients in this product. It is moisturizing and I find it useful, but it is grainier than I anticipated. Not smooth. I used to use Vaseline on my lips until finding out it isn't good for ingestion. I have been searching for a better, more healthful product. This is ok for using before bed, but when I try using it for going out, it dulls my lip color. It is also very pricey in my opinion. Read more
