As other reviewers have said - if you see a great deal, you may be getting the older version of this heating tool with a different colorway/design. That is what I received, and I'm perfectly fine with it. Otherwise, it appears identical. It's designed to be used for paper crafting - scrapbooking, card making, etc, and the heat is more intense then hair dryers. The plastic shield helps prevent you from directly touching the metal tip, reducing your chance of burning yourself, but you must still be careful - it gets hot! I recommend getting a smooth silicone mat to protect your work surface when using the gun. Most people pick up their paper while embossing to prevent heat being applied to their desk. There are also craft tongs with silicone tips that keep your hand away while you're using the heat tool. Read more

Love this heat tool. I honestly bought it because it's aesthetically pleasing to have out on my desk and because I recognize the brand. Great quality too, I'd say it's worth spending about $10 more than the average ugly, clunky-looking, unknown brand heat tools here on Amazon. Read more

I selected this heat gun because of the beautiful gold detail. It looked prettier than most heat guns. However, Like some of the others, I did not receive the same heat gun as pictured. It is white and has WE R logo in blue. Im not sure how it works. I imagine for the price it works as well as any others, but disappointed in not receiving the same product as pictured so I will be returning it. Read more

I am picky about my craft supplies coordinating, so I was disappointed to receive a different heat gun than what the photo advertised. It appears to be used as well. Not a big deal, I'm sure it works just fine — I'd just prefer to receive what I thought I was ordering. Read more

I can’t review on performance because I have not used it yet. But I am disappointed with the appearance of this heat gun. I bought it because of the cute gold leaf that was pictured and instead I received the item with big green letters. Not what I was expecting for it to look like. Read more
