Works Great for Embossing
As other reviewers have said - if you see a great deal, you may be getting the older version of this heating tool with a different colorway/design. That is what I received, and I'm perfectly fine with it. Otherwise, it appears identical. It's designed to be used for paper crafting - scrapbooking, card making, etc, and the heat is more intense then hair dryers. The plastic shield helps prevent you from directly touching the metal tip, reducing your chance of burning yourself, but you must still be careful - it gets hot! I recommend getting a smooth silicone mat to protect your work surface when using the gun. Most people pick up their paper while embossing to prevent heat being applied to their desk.
