I want my webcam at eye level (middle of my computer screen) to record videos. I have tried everything, including expensive "center cams" and pricey mounts. Let me save you a lot of time and money. Mount your webcam (I use a Logitech Brio) on this and raise the arm when I'm ready to record your video. Otherwise, I move the arm to its lowest position and my webcam is out of the way. This is a cheap, simple way to improve eye contact with your viewers by keeping your camera at eye level when needed. Base is too light-weight.

This would've been a great stand for a webcam; however, it can't exactly hold up a Logitech C920 webcam without it tipping over or feeling like it's not balancing well. The actual scissor arm is not actually welded or attached to the base, so if you will have to lift up the whole thing by the base if you wanted to move it around. Don't risk holding it by the scissor arm because it's not attached. It is made out of good material, but while extended, it won't be able to hold anything that is heavier than your standard webcam. If I had to recommend a price of what I'd pay for it, I'd say no more than $15. I did take the screws off of the bottom of the base and can say it's weight is made out of cement. The cement was still slightly damp in mine. I was going to find another way around the light-weight bottom by adding sinkers to it. I have decided to return it and get a different stand instead... One that just clamps on the desk. :) Read more
