My security camera system stopped recording after 9 years in operation. I first thought I would have to replace it with a new system, which would be costly and require a lot more work. But after I looked closely into the problem I realized that the hard drive inside the NVR had failed completely. A quick search on Amazon came up with this one-tetra bites unit from Western Digital that exactly matched my old unit at a very low price—replacing it was a snap. My security camera system is now up and running smoothly. Read more

Just installed as replacement in my security system, the old HDD just stopped working. This one, after formatting, started to record perfectly. I like the 2 year warranty considering this is a refurbished HDD but right out of the very well packed box, this HDD is quiet and working as it should. Read more

For the price and usage, it is a good hard drive. Been operational for 3.5 years and have mainly used it on a old model of the PlayStation 2, although I typically do not use it that much anymore. However, it seems to get the job done. It is still quiet and I have not necessarily been using it for high loads other than adding ROMS from my old PS2 game disks to the hard drive. It is super convenient since my PS2 disk drive has failed for quite awhile, and I can play the games digitally via the hard drive. Read more

This hard drive was purchased for the purpose of being a backup hard drive with a most appealing price. It was temporarily installed within a remote hard drive enclosure and was tested for its interface with an iMac and also an older Win2K system. There was no problem with transferring files from the iMac however the Win2K system requested file formatting prior to any file transfer. Not in any hurry and knowing it would take some time, proceeded with the format that started OK however in time an error message displayed halting the format. Although there was no problem with transferring the iMac files to the 1-TB hard drive, and previously Win2K files have been transferred to the iMac with again no problems, makes me wonder why there were problems with transferring the Win2K files to the 1-TB hard drive. Obviously it has to do with file structure compatibility that needs more research. Just the same, this 1-TB hard drive will do well as a backup even if the Win2K files can be uploaded to the iMac before transferring to the 1-TB hard drive. Read more

Took in a neighbor's desktop computer that she said wouldn't boot. She had replaced it with a nice laptop and did not know what to do with it. I told her I had been taking computers destined for haz waste and renovating them for donation to organizations helping needy students. Rather than mess with her HD, I got this one to start from scratch. It seemed like a great deal and it is. I bought the little usb drive with Windows 10 OS installations (you get to choose), upgraded the RAM, put this HD and the USB drive in and booted. Works great and the computer was wonderful with an un-activated OS and all drivers updated. Read more

Packaged extremely well, the drive was not "de-stroked" like the last one I had to return from another seller. You are getting a full drive volume! Great seller, fast shipping, and damage-free packaging. Read more

I had purchased a more expensive hard drive previously and had so much trouble trying to get it to work. I used it for my 4 camera Zosi system. The previous hard drive just constantly beeped and would not install. This one however worked perfect. It was sooo simple to install, no beeping, and it was immediately recognized and formatted. Good product. Read more
