Great value for my GE under sink water filter. Less than half the price of GE FXUTC replacement filter with the same specs. I use this for drinking water, cooking, and my ice maker, and they work just as well as the more expensive versions as far as I can tell. Read more

I think the last part of the title says it all, “...Fits Most Home Filter Housings”. Unfortunately, it didn’t fit my iSprings filter setup. These look they are decent quality but are not super heavy like other carbon block filters I have used. If you have one of the systems listed on the label, it should work for you. If not, you are taking a chance it might fit. For me, I am disappointed, but thankfully these are not super expensive. For the lack of fit and the lack of weight, I will give it 4 stars, to be generous. I am sure if I had a Whirlpool housing, it would have worked just fine. I can't speak to taste. I would imagine the water filtering capabilities as good, otherwise Whirlpool would not put their name on it. Read more

This is what you expect from a major brand like Whirlpool (as long as it's not counterfeit...). This fits perfectly in my 10" filter body. I'm using it to remove chlorine from city water, so I can't speak to the sediment function. But it does improve the taste of the water. It's not like my water is overchlorinated. I'm using it mostly to treat water for brewing beer at home. Chlorine impacts flavor so less is better. This is effective at removing the slight chlorine smell and taste. Marginal gains, but still better than not treating it. The price isn't too bad. Under $6 per filter. I'm not using it for whole house filtering, only for treating brew water. So the 6 month lifespan doesn't really help me understand the longevity. If they included the number of gallons it treats in the description, it would help me know exactly what the value is. Being a name brand filter, I'm sure the quality is there. They seem to be solid in construction with a mesh around the outside to help prevent damage from accidental impacts. Overall these are good filters for removing chlorine from your water system. If your city puts a ton of chlorine in your water, these will definitely help get rid of that nasty smell and taste. What I like about this 2 pack Whirlpool 10" x 2.5" Carbon Block Water Filter : -Quality rubber gaskets: Although also found in many generic carbon block filters, these particular filters have good quality rubber gaskets on each end to ensure all water goes thru the filter and not around it. -Chlorine and Odor Removal: It is effective at removing the "swimming pool" scent and metallic taste common in municipal water. -Sediment Filtration: Rated at 5 microns, it captures fine particles like silt, rust, and scale. While it won't stop the smallest bacteria, it provides a significant boost in water clarity. -Universal Fit: Because it follows the industry-standard 10" x 2.5" dimensions, it works in almost any brand’s housing, not just Whirlpool systems. The Whirlpool WHKF-WHCB is a middle-ground filter. It is more effective than basic sediment filters because it actually treats the chemical profile of the water. My recommendation is to place this next in line to a less expensive basic 5 micron sediment filter so the cheaper one gets replaced more often, extending the life of your more expensive carbon block filter. Whirlpool filters are made in USA, Taiwan, and China from global materials. I'm not sure where these particular filters are made and I couldn't find any specific country of manufacture label. This 5-micron whole house water filter has been fantastic for my home well system. I’m using it as part of a dual-stage setup; I've converted from a 50 & 25, down to 25 and 5, and it’s doing an excellent job of catching sediment and keeping my water clean and clear throughout the house. Fitment is perfect, as it installs easily into the standard sized filter housing. Since adding this filter, I’ve noticed a real improvement in water quality—everything from drinking water to showers feels cleaner and fresher. I've also noticed that my well water no longer has a smell. It’s a reliable, efficient solution for anyone looking to protect their plumbing and enjoy better water at every tap. Highly recommend for anyone with a well or a whole-house filtration setup. Read more
