My only regret is not buying this last summer! My old Icecream maker was the worst always had to chisel the icecream out. This maker icecream comes out so nice and smooth! The Ben and Jerry's book is great I love there Icecream its nice to be able to make it at home to be able to have more and spend less (only do a single batch or it will overflow). I really like this machine. It's a true workhorse that produces creamy delicious ice cream, a half gallon at a time. I always chill my base first so as to not work the machine too hard. If you do this, the machine should crank out creamy frozen ice cream in about 35 minutes. I love the big bowl and the ability to add toppings etc easily. Super easy to clean. Yes, it's a bit expensive. Or maybe a lot expensive. But it's worth it. I got this to make small batches of ice cream without the need to plan, and it delivers. The customer service is also great - I got one that was DOA and Jof Y. (thanks!) got a replacement unit out, and it has been smooth sailing since. The compressor is very powerful and what I love most is that there is no need to plan ahead (no worries about freezing the bowl, making the base, refrigerating the base...) ... maybe this is inadvisable for large batches but I've even poured straight-from-the stove ice cream base into it and had excellent frozen ice cream come out. Game changer ! Paid for this with my own money - and would do it again. Five stars. Read more

Having used Ice and frozen buckets to make ice cream, I can’t say enough about this ice cream maker and Whynter’s support. i had used mine quite a bit to make salt and straw’s salted malted chocolate cookie dough ice cream, an my unitbhad been great until it developed an issue, but despite being out of warranty, they helped me take care of it.
