Both my standard poodle and my golden retriever are obsessed with these. There's no smell, It has held up to my super chewer Golden Retriever So much better than anything else I have given her. I wish I had known about these when I had my labrador who was 10 times worse than my golden. They're a pretty good size and they are very hard. Pieces that break off are tiny and completely unconcerning to me. We'll be buying again if they ever become unchewable. They are still going strong and no signs of wear or tear anywhere. If you've got a super chewer or a dog that's just obsessed with sticks do not hesitate to purchase this Read more

,I have 2 golden retrievers and all of us have decided these are the best. We tried these and liked them. Then we tried a competitor. We're back to these, only now we've decided we love them. We feel they are better quality and much longer lasting, making them a great value. Read more

Not "splinter free" in any sense. My golden boy wasn't chewing on it for more than 2 minutes and there were pieces coming off in big and small chunks. He left little piles all over my floor before I had to toss it. Read more

Ok so our puppy has a chewing fetish with sticks and wood of any kind. I've tried tons of other products (coffeewood, Ironwood, rope toys destroyed in literally minutes) but none of them worked until we got the Briar Root chew. She loves it and it turns out our older dog does too. So I ended up buying a second so they both have one to chew on! The size was really nice I ordered the unscented XL it's about 6" long/wide and 5" deep the second one arrives on Sunday! Read more

Definitely NOT splinter free. 3 stars because they do love it but don't advertise something as splinter free that not only splinters but breaks into large pieces for puppies to choke on. Crazy expensive for a tiny piece of wood that splinters. Read more

These wooden root chew toys are the best. The wood doesn't splinter. The dogs are highly drawn to chewing on them. The size large was a hefty piece fit for an 80 lp dog. Read more
