Retro Vibes Reloaded: The Wireless Keyboard & Mouse Combo That Survives (Most) Wife Tests

Bruce MaxwellDecember 2, 2025

Oh, where do I even start with this gem? Imagine a keyboard that looks like it time-traveled straight out of a 1920s speakeasy—round keycaps that clack like they're auditioning for a jazz band, paired with a sleek wireless mouse that's equal parts minimalist chic and "don't you dare lose me under the couch." It's the Wireless Keyboard and Mouse Combo with that irresistible Retro Typewriter flair, the kind of setup that turns your desk from drab data entry station into a vintage novelist's dream den. My wife? She's smitten. Like, "smash it in a fit of creative fury and demand a replacement before the ink dries" levels of obsessed. The first one met its untimely demise during a late-night brainstorming sesh—keys flying like confetti at a typewriter tantrum, courtesy of her epic novel plotting (blame the plot twist, not the hardware). But here's the magic: even after the Great Keycap Catastrophe, she raved about the buttery-smooth wireless freedom, the satisfying thwack-thwack of those retro rounds that make typing feel like composing a symphony instead of slamming out emails, and the mouse that glides so effortlessly, it's basically friction's nemesis. Zero lag, zero wires tangling your soul, and batteries that last longer than my patience for bad puns. So, yeah, I shelled out for round two. And three? Don't judge—it's cheaper than therapy for her "artistic frustrations." This combo's built tough enough for daily domestics but stylish enough to flex on Zoom calls. Pro tip: Pair it with a standing desk to avoid accidental launches during your next Hemingway moment. If your typing life's been feeling a tad too modern and monotonous, grab this bad boy. Five stars, endless clacks, and zero regrets (well, maybe one for not buying the armored edition). Read more

A surprisingly solid retro keyboard that brings personality and performance

Kristina B.November 16, 2025

I bought this keyboard mostly because the “milk tea” colors and round keycaps caught my eye, but I’ve ended up liking it far more than I expected. It’s not just cute on the desk—it’s genuinely pleasant to type on and has held up well to daily use. SETUP & CONNECTION The USB receiver is tucked inside the mouse, which I appreciated because it prevents losing it in a drawer somewhere. Plug-and-play really was plug-and-play; my laptop recognized the combo instantly. I’ve had zero connectivity drops, even when I’m typing fast or moving the mouse across the entire desk. FEEL & SOUND The keys have a soft, bouncy feel—not mechanical, but not mushy either. They remind me a little of an old typewriter, just quieter and smoother. There’s a very light “click” sound from the keycaps that gives feedback without being annoying. I type a lot for work, and my hands don’t get tired using this. AESTHETICS This is where it truly shines. The milk-tea colorway looks even better in person—warm, muted tones that make my workspace feel cozy. The little metallic accents are subtle but give it a more polished look. I’ve had several people ask about it on video calls. THE MOUSE The mouse is lightweight and glides easily. It’s definitely on the quieter side, which I prefer. The clicks are soft, and the scroll wheel is smooth. It’s not a “gaming” mouse by any means, but it’s perfect for everyday tasks. BATTERY LIFE Both pieces are still going strong after month's of daily use, even with the keyboard’s sleep mode kicking in when idle. It wakes up with one tap, and I haven’t had any lag or delay. THINGS TO KNOW • The keyboard is compact, so if you’re used to a full-size layout, it takes a day or two to adjust. • The keys sit slightly higher than a flat chiclet-style laptop keyboard, which I personally like—but it might not be for everyone. • No backlighting. Not an issue for me, but worth mentioning. BOTTOM LINE If you want a keyboard that blends personality with reliable performance, this combo is a great choice. It makes your desk feel more fun without sacrificing practicality. For the price, the design, color scheme, and overall typing experience make it a standout. Read more

Keyboard is decent, mouse turns off automatically (EDITED)

JoeyJuly 18, 2025

EDIT: It turns out the mouse doesn't have connectivity issues, but it does seem to turn off automatically (possibly to save battery?) if it hasn't been used in a while. To get it to wake up again, I need to smack the mouse against the mousepad or against my hand once or twice. Annoying, but not as annoying as needing to take the battery out and put it back in again. I used to have this as 4/5 stars, but I'm moving it up to 5/5. If this was a high-end expensive keyboard, I'd be more annoyed, but for the price it's fine. Looks: I got the red/multicolor keyboard. I love the way this keyboard looks, I think it is the right size, and overall I enjoy it. The mouse, oddly enough, is a shade of red that doesn't exactly match any of the keyboard keys, but I don't think anyone notice unless they were being picky. Overall, I'm satisfied with the way it looks. Sound: The keyboard is quieter than other keyboards I have used, but that being said, it is still pretty clicky. The mouse is almost completely silent. Functionality: Here's where I ran into some issues. The keyboard works fine, but the mouse keeps disconnecting. I've tried different batteries, and still have the same problem. Whenever the mouse stops working, it doesn't start working again until I either unplug and re-plug the USB, or pop the battery out and in again. This started happening right out of the box, which was pretty frustrating. Additionally, neither the keyboard or the mouse have an on/off switch, and the keyboard does not have any legs to prop it up if you want it tilted forward a little. Overall, it's not bad for the price, but I wouldn't buy it again due to the mouse constantly disconnecting. Read more
