My derriere has long been a source of minor pain for me. It became acute following a five-hour cross-country flight on poorly padded aircraft seats followed by four days of sitting on plastic chairs for 8 hours a day watching very boring PowerPoint presentations. The five hour flight home was almost unbearable. I was in awful pain. Once I was home I tried sitting on ice packs, but they were too hard and uncomfortable. I tried a gel pack on each side, which helped a little, but they seemed to warm up within 20 minutes and no longer had an therapeutic value until I froze them again. I spend most of my work day sitting, so I was getting desperate and saw this product on Amazon and thought it couldn't hurt to try it (no pun intended). I froze it overnight and took it to work the next morning. It was so comfortable and stayed cold for about 1-1/2 hours. That made the rest of my day bearable. But when I got home, it was no longer cold so I couldn't use it in the evening. So I ordered another one. Now I have a cold one to take to work in the morning and another to use at home at night while the other re-freezes. I've noticed that I don't have anywhere near as much pain, now, so I'm very happy with this product. I highly recommend it for anyone with pain issues (rear end or elsewhere). Read more
I bought two but sent one back because they're a little small - need to try to order the larger size but there was no size on the package or the product when it got here...hard to figure out if the order I placed was for medium or large...anyway, it stays really, really cold for about 20 min as advertised....haven't used the gel heated yet, but I LOVE how it wraps around my hand - the top and bottom straps are too short on the one I received however, the one in the middle wraps all the way around, great velcro. I like it! Does a pretty good job of keeping my wrist and thumb stable. I love the hot cold pack that's included, especially that the gel can be pushed into whichever sections you need it to be concentrated in (do it before putting it in the freezer). When it's fully frozen it's too cold for me, so I let it sit 10-15 minutes before putting it on. When using it without the gel pack it leaves my wrist feeling a little sore from the splint. Overall a good purchase for the price. Even though I only gave it 4 stars I will likely order another one for my other wrist. Read more
This thing was amazing . I was in severe pain after hand surgery for a month. The only thing that eased my pain was ice but as a single mom it was hard to stay still icing it. This let me be up and about while icing . It doesn’t stay cold for longer than like 45 mins but I’m supposed to ice on and off so I just kept putting it back in freezer during the off times . The brace itself Ive worn alone too as it is way more comfortable than the one my DRs gave me . I was very inflamed at my incision so it was nice it opened completely to put on and off instead of hurting me while pulling it over my wound . I truly wish someone told me about this a month ago . I have several brace type supports to help with my trigger thumb, very painful. This one would be 5 stars if it actually fit me. I love the ice pack that you insert into the brace. It's shaped perfectly so that the ice pack cools the exact part of my hand that needs it, and doesn't freeze the rest of my hand in the process. It stays cool for a decent amount of time, seems to last around 15 mins or so, which is close to the recommended time limits when you apply ice on, off, on again. My only complaint is that it's 1 size fits all and it definitely does not. The velcro that goes around my thumb, plenty of room to adjust, maybe even a bit too much velcro there. The velcro that is at the bottom of the brace is also plenty of room to adjust to fit. The velcro tabs part in the middle is nowhere near long enough to go around my wrist and secure it. The only way I can use this is to not secure those tabs which definitely cuts down on the overall effectiveness. Read more
I honestly wasn’t sure what to expect. I have DeQuarvain’s and CMC issues. Despite steroids, my pain kept coming back. I finally broke down and bought this wrap because it had the metal stays for my thumb and a gel pack I could use while wearing. With other wraps, I’ve actually had more pain after wearing them, but after wearing this two days and using the gel pad for heat in the morning and ice in the afternoon, plus doing some hand stretches, my hand feels SO much better! It feels good when I wear it, and I have noticeably less pain and more mobility when I take it off. My only minor complaints are that following: there is a slight chemically smell to the material, but it seems less as it has aired out. Also, it isn’t super easy to get it around your wrist when using a cloth between you and the gel pack. I’m a small person and I was able to just barely to get all the Velcro in place when doing this. I bought this to replace the one given to me by my doctor which fit poorly. This one fits great both with and without the ice pack. The metal piece is a good shape - it permits immobilizing the joint I need to immobilize without impairing what can safely be mobile and the straps well placed and make it easy to get a good fit. The ice pack works well and is easy to get into its pocket. I am generally not a fan of ice packs, but the pocket helps insulate and when it has proved insufficient wearing a thin glove I use for sleeping with hand lotion has done the trick. Read more
