I typically use my WorkSharp Ken Onion sharpener to sharp all our knives, but I was looking for something to throw a decent edge on a blade quick or in a pinch in between a full sharping and came across this sharpener. I looked at others that are similar is design and ultimately decided on this one, based on reviews and being an avid guitar player the Fender Strat guitar body style. I wasn't expecting a WorkSharp edge on my blades, and it doesn't produce one but it does produce a good enough edge on a variety of blade types to get the cutting job done quite well. It is easy to use and the directions being engraved on the base is a nice touch. It is beefy and heavy for its size, which helps keep it from moving around a lot when using it. Compared to other similar options in design, this one was much more reasonably priced. I am happy with how it has performed and it has saved me a lot of time not having to get out, setup and use my WorkSharp as much just to throw a quick edge on a blade. Read more
Looks cool, but is not the easiest with which to sharpen. Unable to sharpen parts of the blade easily or at all. The stones were installed backwards on line, as well. Read more
I just love this sharpener! It works so well. My knives are so clean and sharp after using this. I can slice through a very ripe tomato without crushing it. I have good knives so I want a good sharpener and this one is perfect. It’s very heavy and has grippy feet on it so I don’t have to hold it still on the counter.
