They arrived roughly half charged, and they all read slightly higher than 1.5v, which is normal. (1.53v - 1.56v range) I don't current have a way to test the charge capacity of Li-ion batteries. However, the physical size of the batteries are all within the size tolerances of traditional alkaline batteries, and I had no trouble inserting or removing them from several test items as a result. The case isn't great, with just a red/orange/green light indicator for each battery, which can be charged solo. It does have different modes depending on if you want the AA batteries to charge first, the AAA batteries, or if you want to charge them all equally but slowly. The batteries sit very loosely in the sockets, so you can hear them shake when the case moves. The magnetic clasp on the lid is strong enough that you can hold the case by just the lid without it opening, but not strong enough to stay closed when dropped for 4 feet. Read more

The XTAR Rechargeable AA Batteries and Charger Kit is a solid choice for anyone looking to reduce their carbon footprint while still getting reliable battery performance. The kit comes with 8 AA rechargeable batteries and a convenient charger, which makes it perfect for powering various devices like remote controls, cameras, and flashlights. The batteries perform well overall, providing consistent power for daily use, and the charger works quickly and efficiently. The value for the price is definitely there, especially for a rechargeable set like this. However, I did notice that the stated capacity of 3600mWh seems to be a bit overstated. In practice, the batteries last a little less than expected, with capacity being around 10% lower than advertised. While they still perform well and are a great eco-friendly option, this slight discrepancy is worth noting. Overall, the XTAR Rechargeable AA Batteries and Charger Kit is a reliable and cost-effective solution for rechargeable batteries. Just keep in mind that the actual performance may not align perfectly with the stated capacity. Still highly recommend it for general use! Read more

I usually try and stay away from battery brands I have never heard of. But I couldnt pass this up. I ordered the 8 pack of AA batteries. Super easy to use. Just pop the batteries in, plug it in and let them charge. I think it took about 3 hours from when I got them to fully charge. Do not use the charger for your regular type batteries though. Using non rechargable batteries in a charger is not good and wont do anything but cause damage to...something. I havent killed the batteries yet, so I would say bettery life is pretty good....till they die of course. You cant go worng with having your charger as your battery case. it just makes everything much easier. Read more

I am very pleased with this battery charging set. Unlike other chargers that require one to snap the batteries into a charger, this compact unit only needs one to drop the batteries into holes and close the lid. You don’t need to open the charger to check the charging progress. The lights on top of the charger lid indicate the charging status. There are three charging choices. Two of them are very fast, the other a slow charge. This unit can be used for storing the re- charged batteries. The charger is capable of charging up to eight AA and four AAA batteries at one time. This unit seems to be well- made. It is not cheap, but has many features that I believe are worth the price. Read more

The media could not be loaded. I’m a big fan of XTAR. Already own their VC4 and VX4 chargers, which are outstanding for charging various sizes of lithium ion batteries such as 14500, 18650, 21700, etc. So I picked up their new AA-sized li-ion charger + 1.5V battery set as soon as I saw it. It’s great for batteries that get a lot of constant use around the house - such as remote controls, smoke detectors, flashlights, gaming accessories, and smart devices. What sets this one apart are the features of the charging case: -LED indicators (see my video for demonstration) -Tons of safety measures to protect from over-charge/discharge, temp, current/voltage, short circuiting -Super portable -Snappy cover -Can choose from fast charge or slow charge (slow is better for battery) -Also takes up to 4 AAA rechargeables Very happy with this set. Oh, and the included batteries are rated for 1200 cycles! Read more
