Nonetheless, when I hack and cut with this, it does a great cleaver job. I had two cooked lamb shanks. This cleaver helped me cut all the meat off quickly and efficiently. Many times faster than my other kitchen knives. Read more
I bought this exact knife in another listing under a different brand name. First the reviews from the Vine users are uninformed. This is NOT a cleaver. It's a Chinese-style slicing knife, meant for cutting, chopping, and slicing meat and vegetables. It is not a thick bone cleaver type knife, so the talk about it being flimsy, etc, are invalid. That said, these are cheaply made, so don't expect a $100 knife. But if you know how to sharpen your own knives and you know the technique for using knives of this style, this works as well as any other cheapo knife sold at Chinese markets. Read more
Yes, I am aware that you get what you pay for, but this less than $5 cleaver is almost humorous with how bad it is. It looks terrible in person with black painted strips & ridges. I can't say that it's sharp, but it isn't blunt. The handle is low-quality construction & materials, rough & not really comfortable. Comes with a plastic guard but it's way too large for this knife so it slides. I can't say for sure if it's "high strength" steel, but it flexes easily & more than I've ever seen from a cleaver. In the end this is a piece of junk, and I would never be seen dead with it in my kitchen. It doesn't work very well (shocker) and looks really bad in person. Since it technically does have the ability to cut something, I can't give it a 1 star, but it is as bad as it gets while still 'working'. Do not buy this! Read more
