I bought this mattress pad for our new king mattress that we purchased from Saatva. Our mattress has inner spring coils that purports to sleep cooler than popular & expensive foam mattresses. I only recently learned that the majority of mattress pads have a high component of plastic which contributes to mattresses overheating. Why would we buy a new mattress only to counteract it cooling efficacy by covering it with a plastic mattress pad? This mattress pad is a fantastic, all natural pad that does not contribute to the mattress overheating! Yes, even though it’s made of wool! Cool air can come in, hot air can move out - this creates a temperature controlling environment that helps keep you asleep! I always wash new bedding to rid the fabric of manufacturing smells. This mattress pad says triple washed, and I can confirm with 100% certainty that there is zero manufacturing smell. It smells like I just washed it! Craftsmanship, stitching, packaging are all Premium quality. The pad is a bit large for my 14.5” king mattress, but it does not slide or bunch under our sheets. There is some confusion on how to take care of this mattress pad. It actually says that you should dry clean it or wash & air dry. Both options are a bit challenging! I assume part of the triple washing is to pre-shrink the wool pad and cotton sides. So perhaps when I do wash it in a few months time I will put it on low heat and give that a try, especially given the pad is a bit oversized & shrinkage shouldn’t be a problem! The Yattas wool mattress protector is a high-quality product for a reasonable price. It’s the perfect addition to any mattress, especially ones that claim to be cooling but aren’t, like mine. Because the padding is wool, this mattress pad is an excellent insulator and helps to maintain a perfect sleep temperature. The cover seems sturdy and well-made too. Note that this protector isn’t particularly plush, though. That’s perfect for me when placing it over a hybrid with a pillow-top. For those who want or need one, plush, 3”+ wool toppers run $300-1000. But this is the perfect thickness for my mattress. Read more

Honestly life changing We got a new latex mattress that is supposed to be top of the line but it traps heat so intensely and we were sweating nightly even with a single blanket. This thin layer of wool has made all the difference in temperature regulation, keeping us cozy but not overheated. Should’ve bought one sooner! And I love that it’s Oeko-Tex certified. Read more

Such an improvement over our last ancient mattresss topper! Be careful about washing this unless you understand how to handle wool without shrinking it. I never, ever use new bedding without washing it first, but this smelled fresh and clean out of the packaging, and said it was triple washed, so I made an exception and put it right on the bed. Best sleep ever now, keeping me cool and my opposite body-temperature-while-sleeping husband warm, and has no nasty synthetic fibers/microplastics/polyester/microfibers and the harm they do to worry about. This is a high quality mattress pad. It is well constructed and the wool is soothing and regulates temperature. I like that this is made in Turkey. I have searched for 100% cotton in all the stores and nothing. Found this one and was delighted to see that it was wool filled and the best price I could find. It arrived 4 days early and when I opened it I was pleased with the quality. It fit on my king mattress beautifully but the first night would be the final test. Well I am happy to report that I slept the best I have in a long time. It is so soft and breathable that it was like sleeping on a cloud. Grandma was right , stick with the natural fibers and you will be more comfortable. Don’t believe all the hype of the new fibers claims that they are cooling, it is just not true. I like firm mattresses, but my recently purchased Kluft mattress is just a bit too firm compared to what I'm used to. For my first two weeks with the Kluft I used the decent waterproof mattress protector from my old mattress. Since I put this Yatas mattress protector on it a few nights ago, I have been sleeping better. The protector is only slightly plush but it seems to be making a huge difference in my comfort and sleep quality. I was I initially looking at pricier options but I'm happy I found this Yatas. It is actually slightly larger than the mattress but that has not been an issue. I put it straight on the mattress without washing and there is thankfully no smell at all.
