While I wanted a low-priced jacket, I also needed one that came fast- because the weather changed quickly in Ohio. My husband didn't have his jacket from last year any longer- so we were in a bind and he was freezing with the light jackets he had to wear. I couldn't believe how cold it had gotten all of a sudden and that he had to be out in this weather for much of the day at work- I knew he needed a jacket- and ASAP. But it also had to be affordable. So I looked through tons of ads and this was the only jacket that would come in two to five days. Also, it was under fifty dollars and looked like it had enough installation to survive the worst Ohio weather could throw at my man. When it arrived, it was far and beyond better than I expected- thick lining, heavy outside, and even though the fur on the hood was a little much for my husband (and me too)- it worked out fine and looked good. It was a little weird (the fur) from shipping, but I fluffed it for a few minutes with my fingers and it was fine. The one thing we discovered about this jacket- it has straps on the inside that if the weather gets too hot, you can throw them over your shoulders and carry the jacket on your back (see the photo I included of my husband doing this). And that is very useful for Ohio- because it can be terribly cold in the morning and completely change around as the day goes on. Weather doesn't make sense anymore- you can never tell if Christmas will have snow or sun and feel like a spring day. Nothing is "in like a lion and out like a lamb" and I forgot what month that statement was used to describe- seeing as how the weather is nothing like it was 20 or 30 years ago (and the statement goes further back than that). There are breast pockets and ones on the bottom sides of the jacket- but there aren't any on the inside of the jacket. However, my husband just uses the breast pocket- because they are deep and they button- to carry the things he normally puts on the inside pockets of a jacket. Also, you cannot remove the hood but I like that- as my husband notoriously loses everything- so he would take it off, leave it at work and it would never find its way back (or something like that somewhere else- it would just get lost in some way because he always figures a way to lose everything and never find it again). This is one of the best jackets my husband has had EVER and it has been one of the cheapest. However, you would never look at this jacket and say it was cheap. Yeah, it's pretty simple in its design except for the fur hood (which seems to be the style, for the last couple of years) but it will definitely keep the wearer warm and that was what was important to me (and my husband). That it got here fast- not even a whole week or weeks of waiting. In closing, when you look at the two photos I included with this review, please remember they are photos of the straps from the inside of the jacket (that you can wear around your shoulders to carry the jacket home when it gets too hot to wear). Excellent choice for winter coat! I got this coat cuz I needed one, all I was using was hoodies and like a thin windbreaker. Living in Chicago, that is definitely not sufficient enough for how cold and brutal the winter can be. It definitely keeps the warmth in, zippers work very well, the coat seems to be waterproof cuz the other day it was snowing and then raining and the rain seemed to be sliding off the coat. Excellent value for the money, can't go wrong with 40$ for a full winter coat. The fur is removeable, there's a little zipper you use to remove it. The hood also detaches with a zipper. The pockets are huge and fits all your stuff comfortably, including your hands (when it gets too cold). Just like others said, this coat does have a weight to it, but it doesn't weigh you down or make you feel like there's something heavy on you. I love this coat, and it also has reflector strips on it in case you go out in the night where it's really dark and cars are driving. The reflector patch can be removed/replaced on the back. 10/10 definitely! Read more
