Sooo…have to start with the strong chemical smell. There’s no way to avoid that in an honest review. I think it’s significant enough that some buyers might return it and that’s not a great experience for buyer or seller. However, we wore them a bit and are storing them outside on an enclosed patio for now and will give them some time to breathe and hope they air out quickly in the coming days. Setting that aside (and the reason for 4 stars), let’s talk about these boots. The fit is pretty amazing and the feel is nice. The wide calf makes for comfort and an appealing look. The pleated ankle and the straps and buckles really add to the style and pop. I will note that the toe is rounded and I don’t wear a wide so have to pair it with some thicker socks so my feet don’t move around. If you have wider feet, the fit should give you a roominess you typically don’t find in a lot of boots. I really like the potential these boots have as a footwear accessory and hope the manufacturer can make some adjustments to ship without the strong chemical smell which I feel will not be acceptable to many buyers.
