My son installed one of these lights in their dimly-lit laundry closet, and I thought it would be the perfect light to use in our newly-repurposed water heater closet in our laundry room. The 2X2 closet used to contain only a 30-gallon gas water heater. Having trouble with drafts down the flue blowing out the pilot light, we replaced the gas water heater with a tiny but VERY effective TANKLESS ELECTRIC water heater that fits on a wall. This allowed us to install the water heater and filter on a wall, and use the rest of the closet for storage, with folding shelves which will fold to allow access to the water filter and heater for maintenance. It provides PLENTY of light, and comes on as soon as the door is opened. It shuts itself off in about 30 seconds after it no longer detects movement. Perfect for closets or hallways. I have it in my hallways and I never have to remember to turn off the lights. This is a replacement for one that broke but the one that broke lasted over 5 years so I can't complain. For a little light it does put out a lot of light. Installation was easy. It's very sensitive when it comes to detecting motion. Amazon feedback is suggesting that I mentioned the battery life but there is no battery it's hardwired directly into the power. Read more
I had to replace another motion detection light which used 2 florescent circular tubes. It began to either not work at all, or only one of the two tubes would light up...When I installed it several years ago, I thought it was a Godsend... but I installed the new one, I was even more impressed. It has a narrow profile and will fit into many tight spaces. The installation was a full 4 minutes!! It works flawlessly and is extremely bright. In fact, it is so good, I am planning on replacing the two other motion detector lights with this unit. These are used to illuminate the entrances from my garage where a switch is inconvenient to get to. I understand the manufacturer also makes one that operates off a switch which I interested in using under a shelf over a computer but I am afraid the light is too bright since the shelf it would be mounted to is only a matter of inches from the top of the computer. I am afraid it would be too bright being that close. Now if they make one that can work with a dimmer switch I know I will be in heaven!!! Great Product. I highly recommend it. Read more
I bought this for a neighbor who wanted a motion light. I installed it quickly, no hassle. Everything seems fine except the light does not turn off completely. What I mean there is a very slight "glow" present even after the light turns off. Personally it would drive me nuts but my neighbor says it doesn't bother her. Construction seems solid, comes with all the hardware needed and it is a very nice looking, modern light. As far as longevity I can't tell but in my opinion it's fairly priced and hopefully will last. Read more
My old fluorescent pantry light died. I bought this light as a stopgap until I could find a better light, but really this little light works great so far. Much brighter than I expected. Motion sensor is a real game changer and works great. Installation was 4/5 because the instructions were pretty skimpy and there was no ground wire. But I guess being 100% plastic, it doesn't need one (?) Anyway, the screw holes lined up perfectly with my ca. 1968 junction box, that surprised me. Replaced pull string lights in closets with this unit. On this first day, it works great. Walk up to the closet, light comes on, plenty of light. Easy install. Hope it lasts. So far so good. Edit and addition: When I started my installation of the second and third of these lights, I discovered that the accessory packs that includes the mounting bracket were missing. There is no way to mount these lights without the accessories. I have contacted the seller regarding sending the missing accessory packs. I hope that they will do so. If they do, I will revise my rating. Otherwise, buyer beware and be sure to check the items for completeness when you receive them. UPDATED REVIEW: After contacting the supplier, youtob, they promptly responded to my complaint and, within about 3 days, I received the items that I needed to complete installation of these lights. So, along with a nice product, an outstanding replacement for any lights that need to operation by motion detection (like my old closet lights with the pull string switch), the company provides excellent customer service. Youtob, the manufacturer, claimed that this Motion Sensor Ceiling Light 15W 1200LM would last for 30,000 hours, but it certainly did not. I bought it on Amazon on Oct 23, 2024, installed it on Oct 27, 2024, and it totally failed on Oct 20, 2025. That is less than one year. It was set to turn on for 30 seconds if motion was detected at night---that would be less than 0.5 hour use every night at the most. Even if I were to use it for 24/7 for one past one year, that would be only be 8760 hours of use, way below 30,000 hours. So, product of YouTob is simply NOT reliable at all. I used similar product from other manufacturer before and they will last at least two years. YouTob cannot even last for one full year. Read more
These LED motion sensor lights were the right price so I decided to try a couple in a rental I was rehabbing. I put one in a utility room and one in a closet that originally had pull chain light fixtures (hate those). Use them anywhere you have switched or un-switched power. I have had them installed for several weeks now and the work great. I like the fact that you can adjust the motion sensor for daylight/night mode. They are extremely simple to mount, have a very low profile and fit tight to the ceiling. I liked them so much that I just ordered 3 more for the same rental rehab. Going to use these in the remaining closets and hallway. Don't know why the builder put pull chain light fixtures in the closets!! Read more
