I bought the red boots based on positive reviews and needed for Halloween costume . Well I received today - super quickly - and can tell you everyone is right. These boots are remarkably well made and comfortable. I must have comfortable shoes because I have bad feet and ankles. I can’t even bend my foot into some boots but these work. These boots are true to size and sooo comfortable! I wore them all evening with my red devil Halloween costume thinking it would be a one n done type costume boot. I am now going to wear them with jeans and other regular outfits! The color of the RED is not a “in your face” color; it’s a subtle red. Not sure if they’re made of leather or what, but they seem to be made well with a thicker, rubber sole to boot. Because of my high arch, I did have to loosen up the shoelaces to get my foot into them, but no biggie to tighten them back up. When these arrived it was obviously a costume return. The toes were scuffed up and both of the rubber heel plugs were missing. I was able to return them and got a brand new pair the very next day. I wanted these for real life, not a costume. The quality looked good, the fake leather was soft and not plastic-y, and I like that it laced all the way up and didn't have a zipper. Felt more vintage authentic that way. Other reviews commented on them being comfortable but I'm glad I tested it in my house before wearing them out. I put them on while getting ready and within 45 minutes my feet were screaming. Definitely not shoes that I can work in. I think 20 years ago I could've worn them just fine but now in my late 40s even that much of a heel is apparently too much. All in all, when they're new they're good shoes, just not good for me. Because these reproduction boots are made of something gross like polyurethane, they were not at all comfortable when I tried them on. They don't conform to your feet as you wear them; your feet have to conform to them. Nope!!! One of the grommets used to lace the boot up wasn't installed correctly. If you buy these, you might want to be sure to really check them over carefully before you wear them out to make sure they are properly constructed. The color was beautiful, a rich camel as was the shape and design but the bottom line for me was they were constructed of man-made materials which means my feet could not breathe and they probably would have worn my feet in ways that would not have been good long-term so I returned them. On Etsy I found a vendor that will make find leather boots to fit my measurements at a very reasonable price. That's what I decided to pursue because these boots will last a long time and they will not hurt my feet. Read more
