Works great . Love that I can see how the food is cooking and not over fry anything. Worth the money . Read more
I had ordered a smaller air fryer back in July, I believe it was, as a starter to see if I'd actually use it, which is very important to me because I have such limited counter space. We used it often and loved it, and when I saw this air fryer in October I ordered it because it can do things my smaller air fryer couldn't do, never mind the fact that my smaller air fryer was having problems. This is a family size air fryer, 6.3 quarts, and it has a sturdy Teflon-lined basket that has a tray that can be elevated to accommodate smaller portions of food. I don't always use all the space, but I like having it there. I like the compact size of this air fryer, since I don't have much counter space, and we use it often, especially when the weather's hot. I don't eat fat, don't cook with fat, don't feed my dog any fat, so this is a great way for us to have french fries or breaded chicken tenders. It's easy to use and works exactly as it should. I love the window in front that lets me see how the food's cooking and if it's almost done or all the way done. We use this for air frying, broiling, crisping, and reheating, and it does a great job every single time. I especially like the reheating option, since we're only two in our home and food cooked in the air fryer tastes much better when the air fryer reheats it than if I put it in the microwave. I'm very happy with this air fryer and would highly recommend it to anyone who wants an air fryer for a small family. It's compact and doesn't take up too much space, and it doesn't make a big mess. The Teflon lined basket is easy to clean, and it has eight preset timers, a shake alarm, and it comes with a recipe book. It also has a mute function, but since I'm deaf I don't really need that. This is an excellent product and something you'll use more often than you might think. Read more
I’ve been using this air fryer for a year now and it has been awesome since day 1. It has a very large basket area so you can make large portions at once. I use silicone liners to keep it clean and food cooks perfectly once you find your sweet settings. I had to try a couple different temps and times on a couple things but now I know exactly how long and how high to go on everything. Cooks fast and throughly no matter the item. Easy to clean and was just as easy to put together. Have not had any issues since the day it arrived. Great air fryer! Read more
The media could not be loaded. This is a new product by the company Zavor America, which was started a few years ago by former employees of the Fagor company (no longer in business) that was well known for their pressure cookers and other cooking appliances. It is a basket style air fryer, nominally 6 quart capacity and comparable to several other name brand air fryers of similar size. The temperature range is 180° F to 400° F, so it cannot be run cool enough for use as a dehydrator but plenty hot enough for most air fryer uses. It features a sizzle tray that can be elevated a couple of inches to bring it closer to the heating element and fan by simply setting it on the little bulges in the basket. I think this would bring it too close to the burner if you were using parchment paper. The controls are simple and straightforward, with a few presets for different dishes. The temperature defaults to 375° and the time defaults to 15 minutes, then you have to add or subtract from that to get your desired time and temperature. It does not remember your last setting after you turn the unit off and there are no programable settings. The shake warning beeps three times half way through the cooking cycle to remind you to shake or turn the food. You can turn off the beep if you want but the shake warning still flashes on the LCD screen. The design of the basket and cabinet is clean and simple, but I do not like the deep air input groove on top around the perimeter of the outer cabinet. It seems like things could fall into it and be hard to clean out. Some other models have this air intake around the sides. Basket size is 9 inches square and 4 1/4 inches deep with the sizzle tray inserted at the bottom. I tested it out on a few dishes and it seems to work very well with even cooking and at the suggested times and temperatures I found on the packages or on the internet. The basket slides in smoothly and pauses the cooking when you pull it out to shake or turn the food, then starts back up automatically when reinserted, with the remaining time counting down. It seems to be fairly quiet, comparable to my microwave oven. The window in front is small and helps a little when the light is turned on but still hard to see the doneness of the food without pulling out the basket. The unit comes with a one year warranty but they will extend it another year if you register it within 15 days of purchase. My unit came with a missing silicone stop on the sizzle tray, so I called customer service during their listed working hours. After 4 minutes on hold the recording came on saying no agents were currenly available so I sent an email instead. I received a reply in just a few hours and was told they would send me the missing part. I also found that this new model is not yet listed for warranty registration so I registered a different appliance model and then asked them to correct it to this model. I got a quick reply confirming they have made the correction and that I have the extended warranty. This is my first air fryer so I don't really have a lot to compare, but I have watched hundreds of hours of YouTube videos of the other name brand fryers and this seems to compare pretty closely to most of them and in the same price range. I think over time this Zavor brand name will become pretty well known in air fryers as it is in other cooking appliances, and the two year warranty gives me confidence that this is a good one.
