My dog loves this. He's a jack russell terrier, and is clearly happiest when burrowing and hunting down little mice like creatures - he likes to "bury" his toys and bones (and once my cellphone...) in our couch cushions. He also loves plush toys. So I knew this toy would be his favorite, and I was right. He can extract these guys in about 10-30 seconds, but is still interested in playing with the hedgehogs and the stump afterwards. He particularly likes the stump because it's a nice big toy (for him, he's pretty small), and the holes make it easy for him to grip it in his mouth - he will play fetch with himself with the toy, by throwing it in the air with his mouth and then running after it. The stump seemed to get a little loose, so we will now shove his duck plush in with the hedgehogs to make it a little more challenging. (We tried sticking his rawhide bone in there too, but he scratched his nose trying to get it out, so I wouldn't recommend that.) This is definitely his favorite new toy, and is also adorable. I'm not sure how long they would last if your dog tends to chew on his toys, but my dog seems more inclined to nibble the fur of his plush toys, and these still look perfect (if pretty slobbery) after a month. The one "negative" is we can never find all three hedgehogs at once, ha. I'm guessing if we searched the couch cushions more often that wouldn't be a problem. Edit: It's now been a year and a half, and this toy is still going strong. My dog still plays with it regularly. We've thrown it in the wash a couple times, and he's constantly nibbling the toys, but despite that we have only found a small hole in one of the hedgehogs which was easy to sew up. It's a great toy. Update: Almost two and a half years, and he still plays with it regularly. None have needed sewing other than that one time either. Read more

My Chiweenie loves this toy! She is an aggressive chewer and breaks her toys fast. She loves the puzzle and getting these little hedgehogs out. The squeaker is important to her. She did break one already, but usually squeaker toys last her less than a day. This toy is her favorite and really great for a dog who loves to play. Read more

My dog loved this toy. Comes with three smaller stuffed animals, all that squeak, that you can repeatedly stuff back into the ball. My dog normally destroys toys quickly, but this one has lasted a long time. Well- constructed, with no parts coming off during play. Safe and fun for the dog and owner. Great price. Read more

We have two dogs and both of them went NUTS over this toy when it first arrived. One dog (KoKo: 75% Chihuahua, 25% God only knows) will sit for *hours* with one in his mouth, just lying around with it in his mouth, chomping down & squeaking the squeaker. I've actually seen him (more than once!) drift off into a contented asleep while still holding one in his mouth. (That's why hubby calls these little hedgehogs KoKo's security blanket.) The other one (Derby: Australian shepherd / Jack Russell mix) loves to chase them if you roll them along the floor like a ball which, considering their shape and the material they're made of, they roll rather well. He also loves to try to pull the fur off it. The eyes, nose and mouth are just stitches, not little bits of plastic that he could accidentally swallow. Of course he's managed to pop stitches so one of them already had stuffings peaking out after the first three days but, even though we've had them for a over a week now, he hasn't *utterly* destroyed it yet. Which I feel is pretty good considering most dollar store dog toys never last more than a day once Derby starts playing with them. As a puzzle, it's pretty easy, not really challenging at all. Even so, KoKo is the only one of our two dogs that has figured out how to get them out of the "log". (But, I think that's more because Derby quickly loses interest in dog puzzles if food isn't involved.) Highly recommend. Read more

First, my dog loves this toy. For that I would give it 5 stars. It is pretty small, but my dog is small-medium size (miniature schnauzer puppy) so it's perfect for him. The picture makes it seem like the burrow is firm and holds its shape - it is not and it doesn't. The little hedgehogs are very cute, but this is where my rating dropped a star. On the first day my dog managed to remove on of the noses (just string sewn in). In the first week one of the seams split on one of the hedgehogs and I need to sew it back up before I give it back to my dog. The other two seem to be holding up just fine. And the burrow, which gets the most abuse from him, is in great shape. I would definitely order this again and probably will once he's managed to destroy this one! Read more

We now have three Zippy Paws burrows (chipmunks, hedgehogs, holiday bears), and they are by far my dog's favorite toys. She likes small things with squeakers, and these are perfect. She can entertain herself pulling them out or chase them if we throw them. The holes fit her tiny muzzle perfectly. She babies the little critters and so the chipmunks are still mostly whole after a year, when most squeaky toys are destroyed in minutes. She's part dachshund, so the burrows are a great match to her primal instincts. We love these so much! Read more

My dogs 1yr & 3 yrs loved this , my pups have not stopped playing with it and I get some laughs watching them trying to get to the hedgehogβs out . The interest, and concentration they show with this toy is amazing, also there is something about the hedge hog squeak it gets their attention and they seem to love it. I appreciate the quality too, since arrival they have chewed, played fetch and carried them around they have held up quite well, whereas some of the toys I have bought have shown wear and tear the first day. My dogs are 7lbs and 15 lbs so this toy may be too small for a larger breed. Read more
