Ok, this sharpener being my very 1st electric, is GARBAGE! I started a return, but decided to cancel it & leave this review instead, because it isn't worth paying someone for gas to get to the return store. Here's what's in their description... "Our colored pencil sharpener is suitable for 6-8 mm NO.2 graphite pencils and colored pencils, such as Prismacolor Premiers, Derwent, Verithins, Faber-castell, Koh-I-Noor Progresso... They claim the sharpener also sharpens... Prismacolor Premiers & Faber-Castell...which I have. They actually DO NOT sharpen these 2! (I also use NO.2 graphite pencils and colored pencils, which it do not sharpen properly either) They go on to say... "but it is not recommended to be used for soft pencils..." What do they think Prismacolor & Faber Castell's are exactly? They are SOFT!!! (((I believe they are just trying to throw in a few name brand pencils, to make them look better than what they actually are, so that we will buy it))). Once I plug it in, I can hear the motor, VERY FAINT, but, the sharpener doesn't sharpen. It doesn't turn, or whatever it's supposed to do in there, so I popped the blade out, just looked at it for a second, then popped it back in. It now turns, but fails to sharpen like they claim it will...it's trying to I suppose, but it sadly fails. So, it has 3 settings..."Sharp", "Semi Dull" & "Dull" tips. When I slide it to SHARP, cause that's what I need, it only goes to the "Semi Dull", and even then, it only sharpens 1/2 of the pencil!!! It refuses to give me a "POINTED" or WHOLE tip! And brace yourself when placing your pencil into this sharpener, if you do not hang on to your pencil for dear life, it WILL try to pop out! Also, the whole sharpener begins to "Spin" around when the pencil is trying to sharpen as it sits on my table-top. I can hear the motor grinding, but the sharpener doesn't spin...the pencil locks into place and the whole sharpener begins to spin around! So, you must have some arm strength in order to use this thing, and you need to actually HOLD it in your other hand while sharpening. Just. Simply. Garbage. Spend a few extra bucks & purchase something that literally...sharpens. Stay away from this waste of $10 bucks! GL! Read more

We just got this and it’s already amazing right out of the box! It can work with batteries or plugged in. When plugged in you get a more powerful experience but either way is amazing. Perfect point each time! My child is an artist and standard sharpeners would break a point off before actually sharpening one.. this hasn’t broken a single one! I love it and will probably get another one as it was also a great value! The color of the item was slightly more of a pinky purple but honestly it’s fine! I highly recommend! Read more

This electric pencil sharpener is okay for the price—definitely affordable and it does a decent job sharpening pencils. However, one of the main reasons I chose it was the option to use a USB cable instead of batteries, and that feature never worked. So in reality, it only runs on batteries, which I don’t like. It’s fine if you just need a simple, inexpensive sharpener, but if you’re counting on the USB function, it may be disappointing. Also, my Brutfuner square pencils wouldn't fit, so pretty much one size only. Read more
