This knife set is fabulous. It was quite pricey but worth every penny. Our last set was a good brand but in less than 2 years most knives were terrible. We splurged for this one and it is beautiful and VERY sharp. My first try was with a pineapple and I was amazed how easy it was to cut through. Good basic set. Seem to be fairly sharp. Very disappointed to see some of the items are made in China. Clearly the info leads you to believe it is all made in Germany. Scizzors and wood block are both Chinese. For nearly $400 it should all be German. Sorry, but that is deceptive. Overall knives are much lighter weight than our old Zwilling Henckles knives. This is for ordering direct from Zwillings website. I had an issue with an order and contacted customer service about 24 hours after the order was placed based on hearing back from them regarding two similar items (a 7 piece pro for $350 and an 8 piece pro for $300). I offered several options to remedy a situation I felt was caused by misleading information on their site and everything was denied. They state hassle free returns and after having to ask several times, the rep discloses that you have to pay to ship items back which to me is a hassle. The rep offered to have a supervisor call me back and that never happened. They did not work with me at all and there’s just a lot of empty talk reading off a script (“I understand your frustration”) and no action to satisfy the customer. A stark contrast to what I feel is good customer service through Amazon. Read more
