Zwilling has long sold an enduring set of knives. They are well balanced and have a great, ergonomical feel in your hands. They are sharp right out of the box, ready for any of your cutting needs. The rivets are perfectly ground with the handle, so you won’t snag your hand on them as you chop away. The steak knives are actually quite good: steak knives are typically the weakest link in a knife set, but I enjoy these ones. The handles don’t feel light or flimsy, and they don’t have any parts to fall off because they are glued on. The block is also heavy enough to stay in place and keep all your knives organized. I feel that Zwilling should offer a 15-piece storage block because they give you the five open slots which, as others have pointed out, are not as aesthetically pleasaning. I suspect that is Zwilling’s subtle way of saying, “Buy more knives!” There are also a few knives that I wish would have a longer heel. I would be concerned about potentially slipping and slashing a tendon. At $380 for the 15-piece set, this is solid value that has a lot to offer your everyday, working, chopping, and cutting needs. After using these Zwilling knives and block for several weeks, I am obsessed with how smoothly they cut! I already own 3 different length paring knives from this brand - which fit in the extra block slots, and they have performed very well. The knives in this 15 piece block set are easy to hold, not being to heavy, they have a good balance and feel. And WOW, are they ever sharp with a full tang!! I have run a few of them through the dishwasher and they have come through unfazed and just as durable. I especially love how wonderfully the scissors cut through everything from raw meat to cleanly snipping herbs and I find the 6in utility knife my go-to for so much kitchen chopping. The steak knives cut through steak like butter! I plan to keep adding to the knife blocks extra spaces with a few more Zwilling knives. This set is pricey but certainly a good investment for a great quality knife set. Read more

These are incredibly sharp, family members were cutting themselves accidentally many times because they were used to our previous knives. The scissors are also very sharp. Build quality seems okay but there was a spot of rust on one of the knives. Also quality control seems very lacking because there were frayed plastic bits on multiple knives and the plastic bits would get on my fingers or in food when being used. I included some pictures. Nobody wants to eat plastic. It's a shame the QC is not so good for these super sharp knives that feel good to cut with. They are not cheap pricewise. Read more

These knives are pretty fabulous! They are a huge upgrade from our last knife block set, and are high quality knives. They are sharp, so you need to be careful around them (my wife accidentally cut her hand on one of the knives when taking it out of the dishwasher). But, they are great knives and they have maintained their level of sharpness over the last few months. I love the different kinds of knives that are in this set, and my wife and I especially appreciate the scissors that are included in this set (they are great!). My wife uses this set when she is cooking, and she finds them to be "amazing", which is good enough for me. I like ths smaller steak knives when eating, and they are comfortable in the hand and do a great job slicing up food. These knives (and scissor) are solidly made and seem like they will last a long time. And the price is very fair for the quality you get and are a good value for your money if you're looking for a high-quality knife set. Easily a 5-star item! Read more

About a year or so ago, we got rid of our old cookware that we had for almost 15 years, and upgraded to stainless cookware by Zwilling. Zwilling was a brand that we had heard of as being premium, and was definitely a step up from what we had been using. I did not realize that Zwilling made other kitchenware like utensils and cutting boards, so when I saw this knife set and knife block, I wanted to add this to my kitchen. We have been using the same knife set and knife block ever since we moved into this home just over 20 years ago. The knife set was a good starter set and lasted a long time, but they were never really meant to be used for as long as we have used them. The blades on the knives have bent and they have dulled quite a bit. The metal that inserts into the handle has rusted on some of the knives. Also, the wooden block has started to look worn as well. Again, it was a decent starter set. It was affordable, looked fancier than it was, and lasted longer than I had ever thought it would. This Zwilling knife block is a humongous step up from that first knife block we had. This is a 15-piece set, and is made in Germany. It includes 14 knives, and 1 wooden knife block. The knives are very sharp, and made of premium stainless steel. The set of 14 knives includes 8 steak knives, kitchen shears, a chef’s knife, a blade sharpener, and a few different utility knives. Before even using these knives for the first time, simply by feeling the handles and the weight of them, I could tell these were of superior quality. I had never really heard of Zwilling until a few years ago, and I can honestly say that Zwilling’s quality is obviously superior to most other brands. Yes, the price point is higher, but as I have always said, you get what you pay for. When you see and feel a Zwilling product, you will immediately know where the extra money went. I am so pleased with this purchase, and would rate this as an A+ purchase.
