Is it a "chiefs knife or a prep knife, who cares, its wonderful. A hybrid knife, sort of an longer version of a Japanese petite knife, a great all purpose knife. Very sharp, strong yet flexible German steel makes this knife a welcome addition to any kitchen. Yup, I like its design, handle comfort and all around functionality and its a Zwilling. Get one for yourself and a nice gift for a loved one... Read more

I love this little prep knife and find myself reaching for it often for small cutting jobs! it's VERY sharp and i haven't found anything yet that it won't cut easily. It's smaller size makes handling it easy, but it's still big enough to cut most things I'm frequently cutting/slicing. Great quality, and it has a nice balanced weight to it. so far it's stayed sharp so seems to have good edge retention and it's comfortable for me to hold. Read more

Zwilling has various levels of quality, from good preparation to Iron Chef usage. This particular knife is better than the average which is great for the quality that we need and utilize in our kitchen. Easy to grip with anti slide, full tang, great size, not too heavy and the major reason I bought it was the hollow blade. I wanted to work with a blade that sheds cut vegetables easier. The hollow blade does that by having divot like indents along the blade to break surface tension. I would recommend this knife. Read more

This is more a toy than a good prep knife. It has a tiny handle and a thin blade and has hardly any weight or heft to it. I was shocked to see unserious it was when I first received it. Although it did arrive sharpened, and has maintained its edge for the few dozen times I’ve used it, whenever I cut anything harder then celery I’m afraid it will snap. Read more

This knife arrived razor sharp and is light weight and well constructed with a thin blade and comfortable handle. It is maintaining its sharpness too, although I'm sure it will need sharpening eventually. It is a good size for small fruits and veggies and garlic/herbs when the big chef's knife seems like overkill. I often use it in my hand like a paring knife too, even with my small hands. In fact, with a vegetable peeler and this knife, there are hardly any times I reach for the paring knife now (really only for thumb-rotation cuts or to open tofu containers). So I think this is a more versatile companion to my chef's knife than my paring knife if I had to pick between the two. Read more
