This is the second one of these that we own. The first was bought several years ago, went through a remodel (moved it to a temporary location) and eventually to a summer cabin where it still performs. This one is also at our summer location in another building and based on the ease and use of the first one, we bought another. Does an excellent job on baked potatoes, even better than our high end built in one in the kitchen. It is not deep so it fits well on a shelf or can be mounted under a standard 12" upper cabinet. It is very quiet, compared to our old GE. Does everything we need and being 800 watts, doesn't use as much electricity. We like the 30 second feature also. Didn't have that on our old model. Wish we could have had it in the beige/almond color, but really liked the dimensions on this model and could not find any other microwaves this size. The first one came with a big dent. That was shipping's fault. I didn't even have to open the box, bcuz the box itself had a large gash in it. So the delivery guy hoisted it back onto his truck and I was shipped another one. The replacement is running smoothly and I have no complaints at all with the product. I searched and searched for a microwave oven that would fit in the space where our old one was. This was the one! We ordered a trim kit and installed the microwave and kit in no time at all. So easy! And the microwave works perfectly. It's a small microwave, but it's a perfect replacement for our old one. It looks great in our kitchen! Read more

Plan on the magnetron going around the 3-yr. mark. This is our third unit of this kind, and all have had the magnetron die. GE only offers 1 year warranty on this component now where they used to offer a 3 year warranty on the magnetron. Other brands offer 1 year total and 10 years warranty on the magnetron specifically. However we have searched high and low for another make that would fit and an under-cabinet attached under our 12" deep cabinet as this one does but to no avail. All other makes do not offer under-cabinet only 'over the range' which are too big (too deep for or 12" cabinets and therefore would stick out in front of the cabinet doors and defeat the appearance and accessible space available under the microwave once mounted to the bottom of the cabinet- this is why GE used to call this model 'Spacesaver', because it gives working space on counter top below once microwave mounted to bottom of above cabinet. To not get a replacement unit similar to this in size, our cabinets and kitchen would have a hole showing where the backsplash is purposely missing and the cabinet that it used to mount to to appear weird because it is shorter to allow for a microwave attached below. Or alternatively we could endure the expense of new cabinets and with installation and lost counter space not afforded. Why does GE now offer such a poor (short) warranty on these microwaves now? I wonder. Since only GE sells this under cabinet style in white, I guess we'll be buying again with no other good alternative choice. Read more

I bought this for a kitchen reno because my old countertop model did not fit on a standard upper cabinet shelf. This one fits well. i think it is a little pricey for a microwave, but that's what you have to pay to have a smaller size. I rarely used my old microwave, but am finding that I use this one more often. I like the reheat function (press reheat, then select a number that corresponds to dish you are reheating). The list is posted inside the door, so no trying to remember anything--just look and press. Of course, being built in China, Poultry is listed as "Pourtry". Come on GE, seriously? $150 billion in revenue last year and that's the best you can do?? Hope it keeps working for a good long while. Read more

The microwave is fine, but... the online description said it included an "Under-Counter Mounting Kit," and a "Charcoal Filter." Neither of which is true/correct. The oven arrived, no mounting kit (which I need to install it) and there is no charcoal filter. We're heading out today to try and find the mounting kit locally, but there will surely be a cost associated with it, and per the text it was to be included.
