This curling iron is small enough for you to take anywhere when traveling. I turned it on and it does need some getting used to the settings but the instructions are clear enough to understand it. After playing with it for a few minutes i was able to understand the settings. I used it and it definitely does curl your hair. I will say, I'm not sure if the heat is actually different depending on what you choose. Read more

This is a very cool little curling iron. It is compact so great for travel or to keep in your desk at work, but still does a good job at curling hair. It has an effective clamp to hold the hair in place while curling and that's not always the case with these smaller curling irons. It states for short hair, which I am sure it would work best on, but my hair is medium length, just past my shoulders and it worked fine for my hair. It is very sleek looking, and the display shows the temp as it is heating, which is a nice feature so you know when it's ready. It's easy to power on, with just the touch of the button then simple to cycle through the heat settings. Once you choose your setting it locks so you don't accidentally change it by bumping the button. You can unlock it by pressing twice. The power off confused me a bit until I read the directions (duh haha) and you press 2 times to unlock then once more to power off, so 3 presses to power off. It comes with a very nice little carry pouch too. It's just a really nice little curling iron, and would be a great add to your hair tools. Recommend! Read more

If you have short or medium length hair this mini curling iron works fantastic. Very portable and doesn’t take up space in your suitcase. It has some weight to it and the quality is great. Heats quickly with an easy to read digital interface. Doesn’t scorch the hair and makes its soft. The cord is long which is perfect for hotel bathrooms. Very easy to use and cools down quickly. I just wished it came with a travel bag. Read more

I originally got this Desalo 1 Inch Curling Iron for my young daughter's hair, but then I ended up taking it on my recent trip abroad. I had to pack in a carry on and was low on space. I threw this curling in and I'm so glad I did. It's very compact, heats up quick and generally curls very well. I have very long hair and I still was able to use this. It's not just for short hair. I would say it doesn't completely smooth out textured hair when there is humidity involved, even on the highest heat setting, but I made it work by using lots of hair oil after curling. I was in a country with 230 voltage on a type C plug so having this be dual voltage was necessary. I was able to plug it into a travel adapter and had no issues. If you are traveling to another country, it's key to make sure your hair tool works on other voltages. I, unfortunately, didn't check my very expensive hair dryer and ruined it. Read more

This compact 1‑inch curling iron heats up quickly and works well for short hair and longer hair, especially for travel. What I tested: I used it on layered hair and tried all five heat settings. I didn't test the dual‑voltage feature. Performance: The barrel heated evenly, and the temperature memory feature made it easy to return to the same setting. The lock button kept the heat level from changing while styling. Pros: Compact size for travel Five heat settings for different hair types Dual voltage for international use Temperature memory and lock features Comes with a storage bag Cons: No manual temperature control by degrees, just preset levels Who it’s good for: Great for anyone with short or longer hair who wants a lightweight, travel‑friendly curling iron with simple preset heat options. I have short hair, so finding a curling iron that actually works with it instead of against it is a challenge, but this little curling Iron nailed it. It’s small but mighty! The barrel size is perfect for creating tighter, more defined curls that actually last...which is saying something, because most irons just give me “soft waves” that fall out in an hour. The clamp has a really good grip too, so I don’t have to fight to keep short strands in place. I also love that it’s coated with ceramic so it glides so smoothly through my hair without snagging or frying it. My curls come out shiny and bouncy instead of frizzy or dry, which is a huge win. The travel friendly design is another bonus. It’s lightweight, dual voltage, and comes with a velvet pouch, perfect for tossing in my bag for trips or touch-ups on the go. The digital temperature display makes it super easy to find the right heat setting for my hair. It heats up fast, remembers my last setting, and the swivel cord makes styling a breeze. Honestly, this is the first mini curling iron I’ve used that doesn’t feel like a mini, it performs like a full size tool, just in a compact body. If you’ve got short hair or want something reliable for travel, this one’s a keeper. Read more

This 1 inch curling iron really is for short hair. It's not very big and although you could use it for travel, I believe it's works best on short hair vs. long. You can only put a short amount of hair with it when curling. Also the curls won't be large ones, but smaller ones. There are 5 heat settings which are nice, but I tend not to use any of the really high ones in general. It is cute though for it's small size. So if you only have small curls you're looking to do this could work well! Read more
