I've been using this 12,000 BTU portable air conditioner for a week now, and overall, I'm very pleased with its performance. It's a solid choice for cooling medium-sized room, and it definitely helps beat the heat during warmer days. This unit cools quickly and consistently. It brought the temperature in my living room from 85°F down to 72°F in about 30 minutes. The caster wheels and compact size make it easy to move from room to room. This A/C was a great deal—especially with the coupon! Setup was super easy, even on my side-sliding window, and it came with plenty of foam to seal it up. It cools fast and works way better than my old window unit. I got the larger model for my sun-soaked room, and it handles the heat like a champ. It’s not super quiet, but nothing too distracting, especially once you’re used to it. I wouldn’t say it’s ideal for super light sleepers, but for daytime use or living areas, it’s manageable. There was a coupon for $80 off to buy this air conditioner. I didn't know if there was a window kit for a side sliding window so I ordered one and had to send it back. The window kit works perfectly on my window! It pushes out air on low faster than my livingroom air conditioner did on high! It doesn't take long to cool down a room! Considering how much air conditioners cost these days, this is a WONDERFUL alternative and even better, it's PORTABLE!!! As long as the room you're using it in has a window, you're set!!! I would take advantage of the deal on this air conditioner before you waste money on the equivalent window air conditioner!!! Read more

I strongly question some of the 5-star reviews for this product. I purchased two (2) of these units to upgrade two "lesser" units that were not keeping my home office and son's bedroom cool enough upstairs in our cape cod. The rooms are approximately 275 SF and I was running an 8,000 BTU window unit in one room and a 5,000 BTU window unit in the other. Both blew out very cold air but were undersized for the summer heat since our central air failed a few months ago. This product is NOT worthy of the 10,000 BTU rating as advertised and I am extremely disappointed in the performance since installing them a week ago. These units actually perform WORSE than the ones I was replacing. They sure move plenty of air so the function as a fan is not so much a problem, but the ability to actually cool a room is nonexistent once outdoor temps reach 80-85 degrees and higher. The rooms are hot, slightly humid and the units run nonstop no matter the setpoint. There is barely any compressor sound so I wonder if the compressor is undersized, if low refrigerant is a problem, or something else but now that more people have purchased these, I'm seeing comments similar to mine so it does not appear to be an isolated issue. For comparison in our main/larger bedroom we have an 8,000 BTU portable Midea unit (same price point) and it not only quickly reaches set temperature, it gets extremely cold if desired and keeps the connected bathroom cool as well. My expectations for these new units was that they would exceed the performance of lesser units I already have in use, and they do not even come close...they perform far worse. These are basically really expensive fans that will slightly cool your room overnight and run constantly, but once the sun is up and temps rise you can forget it they are absolutely worthless. Buyer beware, take your money elsewhere...I have already ordered replacements and will be returning these asap. Read more
