These are an excellent choice for filling shoe boxes for Operation Christmas Child gifts as long as you're using a bigger shoe box than the ones that come free from Samaritan Purse. We used the 7-gal Sterilite boxes purchased at Walmart because they're 14x8x6 and can hold a lot more. The backpacks are quality especially for the price. Was able to fill 10 child gift boxes for $4 per backpack. We're giving 5 to the girls (ages 10-14); and 5 to the boys (ages 10-14). They're a good size--certainly sufficient for an adult, teen, or preteen. They're bright and colorful with the zipper being highlighted in black for easily visibility.. They're sturdy canvas, the straps are padded sufficiently, it's got the brand logo, and they can hold a lot. Each backpack comes neatly packaged in their own clear plastic wrapper and they're not folded so when you roll them up into the gift box there won't be fold lines everywhere. Mu girlfriend is a teacher in a district who serves a low income student population, many of the students dont have the means to get the supplies they need. Not the first batch we’ve purchased. We live in a hurricane prone area and take being prepared seriously. We fill and mark the bags for future use accordingly: Medical/Food/Water/Clothes. The bags are big enough to fill with a lot… but never too heavy to carry. I’ve never had one tear or otherwise fail. My heaviest was 1k 9 mil and the bag did the job. Food cans, bottles of water and even books fit nicely. Mark the bags and then grab and go. Boat trip, we grab a bag or two with supplies and go. Road trip, grab a bag.
