I stumbled upon these great dual mode bulbs while looking to replace a few that had worn out. I bought a package of 6 but needed 8. I ended up buying another 6 pack and have some spares. These are installed in our kitchen and our Morning Room with the big screen tv is adjacent. Sometimes while watching TV the old lights would refrlect in the TV image. While it was pretty simple to adjust the look, having the ability to dim them to so there is no glare is really a bonus. Read more

This is a great solution for day to night lighting without using a wifi connection. Note that these are not zero blue light bulbs. There is a light graph in the instruction manual, and the night light setting does still have the blue wavelength. I switched to zero blue light bulbs in my primary bedroom and bathroom... But then I couldn't see when I needed light. After my house had storm damage, I was having to swap bulbs when workers came so they could see! These bulbs allow me to change from day to night with the flip of the switch! In the day setting, the bulb produces the same amount of light as the GE Relax LED which is not a night light but a warmer tone LED (not cool daylight). In the nightlight mode, the light is slightly warmer and is "eclipsed" so that light only comes out the side and spreads across the ceiling (see pics). The bulb fit in my recessed cans and the smaller "fish eye" canned lights. For some reason it sticks out from the larger fish eye, but this may be specific to the way my fixture was installed. (See pics.) Drawbacks: If you're a techie you may not like that these lights are operated by the switch only. Personally, I prefer not having to use an app (and screen) at night. The light always turns on in the day mode, rather than it's previous mode. So you will get a initial blast of light at night. It also would be better if the blue wave length was completely eliminated in the night setting. Overall, I am happy with these bulbs. They offer good value for the price and function. if someone set up a demo of how these lightbulbs work at a place like Home Depot, they would sell thousands. No smart bulbs, no switches to change, no rewiring or dimmer, no smart phones,,, No changes to existing wiring needed. They might work on a dimmer, but I don't have dimmers.
