I bought this KAMLAM 12000 BTU portable AC unit last year at end of the season on sale. I mainly needed for a grow tent room because the window in that room (hot kitchen) is halfway behind a counter so a window AC gets blocked and will mold. Before this heatwave hit I was really only using this portable AC to battle the humidity, but now that the 100 degree heat wave just hit New England, I can say its been working very good the last few weeks. It cools a hot, old, 2nd story, flat black roof kitchen that's in a 1800's home. The dry mode works very good as well. This AC really pulls the moisture out of the air in either mode so do yourself a HUGE favor and buy an automatic condenser pump (as pictured) they are about $30-50ish and worth every penny. Just put the water outlet hose in it and run the drain hose out a window and it will auto-drain. Also you have to insulate the exhaust hose, same deal with any portable ac, but trust me.. wrap the exhaust hose in some cloth/sheet or better yet buy a insulator sleeve for it. Heat that comes off that exhaust hose and back into your room is crazy. Same issue with any portable AC though. I really putting it to the test now, been running 24/7 for the last few weeks. Even use it to counter the oven heat. Great unit. It's not overly loud, actually pretty quiet. We had a power outage and it restarted itself back up without issue when the power came back on. Recap of tips, and must haves, for portable AC's users.. -Buy an automatic condenser pump when you buy any portable AC and never worry about a full tank/bucket. -Buy a exhaust insulator sleeve or make your own with a sheet/blanket. -Constantly check/clean the filters. Clean weekly if using 24/7. -Make sure to seal all the leaks around your window so the AC pulls the rooms hot air and not outside hot air. Read more

Pretty good deal for air conditioner. It has pretty good overall reviews. Portable and easy to use. Temperature control is easy to manage and set. The manual is clear and easy to follow. Looks simple and easy to put in anywhere in the house. The durability seems great so far. Material is sturdy. Depends on the room size, it cools off the room quite fast. Best for apartments or attic to help the air flow. Great to use if you only wants certain room to be cooler than the others. Would recommend to give it a try. Read more

Really good portable AC. After careful review of a lot of choices on Amazon and wanting to make sure I’m getting my money’s worth, I bought this portable AC. It was extremely easy to set up and as long as you have a sliding window it works really well. I have a roughly 550-600 sq ft apartment and it cooled the entire unit. This definitely saved my grandma and I from extreme heat waves in a brick New York apartment. Super awesome features that allows you to chose from different settings to also help with humidity. Had to drain a couple times a week when humidity was terrible and raining outside but like any AC, it definitely has a really good drain system just make sure it’s on a slightly elevated surface. The unit is fairly well built, able to cool a small bedroom in the somewhat warm spring we're experiencing on the west coast. The remote control provides an ease-of-use and convenience that is much appreciated when having to make adjustments to the unit in the early morning hours when you are struggling to make heads or tails of everything. I read a comment that indicated that every time the unit was turned off and on the temperature units would revert from Fahrenheit to Celsius; this has not been my experience after setting the readout to Fahrenheit with the remote control. No problems with overheating or leaking; will check if things change with the added pressure from summer temperatures. Only downside to date is that the hose and attachments are packaged at the top of the unit and my box was pretty beat up when it arrived. As a result, the hose connector that attaches to the back of the unit for exhaust was cracked, leaving a large hole where there should be a relatively complete seal to prevent heat from exhausting into the room. I submitted a request for a replacement of only the attachment but have not heard anything back from the manufacturer. I've looked for replacements on Amazon but this particular unit seems to have a very uniquely sized exhaust port requiring a symmetrically shaped square connector; all options I've seen on Amazon have one side longer than the other (or are circular in shape). Some super glue has provided a temporary fix but if I am unable to thwart exhaust heat from seeping into the area I'm trying to cool, it would seem like a failed venture (at least more expensive than should be necessary). ---Update--- The business reached out and offered to make good on the purchase by replacing the broken connector, which is much appreciated. My experience with customer service alone warrants an increase to my original rating, and certainly makes me consider them for repeat patronage! Read more
