This is a fantastic little item to have for every room in your home! I had a Shark steam cleaner many years ago but they discontinued it, and I’ve been searching for a substitute ever since- I finally found it in this one. This unit uses actual steam- meaning the water gets heated to 212°F or more-NOT just hot water mist, which unfortunately is common with other models and I’m capable of doing myself with a dollar store spray bottle. I have used this baby in every room of my house, on every type of surface you can imagine, to clean every type of dirt, grunge, “stickiness”, from newly created messes to problems that have existed for long periods or built up over years and I haven’t come across anything this steamer hasn’t been able to conquer. If you’re unfamiliar with using handheld steam cleaners then you might encounter some issues you think are malfunctions. Water can drip from the steamer’s tip at first when heated up; I think because all the water isn’t heated. Just wait a few minutes, then spray a few times- it will stop. When finished, there’s a default setting to keep you from opening the tank and getting burned or scalded- the cap will keep spinning but can not open the water tank. Wait until unit is cooled, then press the button to release some of the heated water. (It can still be fairly hot so unless you need to refill, I would wait until completely cooled to open the tank). As long as you realize this is not a professional cleaning tool, but a home model, and have realistic expectations, i.e., don’t expect it to remove the tar off of a roof, then you should find this steamer will make your cleaning much easier on what it is designed to do, and save you time, effort and money. I bought it to keep the house cleaner, especially the kitchen and bathroom, and I am very happy with the result. The steam has a lot of power, it removes grease and dirt without using chemicals, and I also use it on the windows - they are perfect. I decided to clean without chemicals because I have a little girl, and many times in the middle of cleaning she asks me to carry her. With this cleaner I don't run the risk of hurting it with any chemical, I just turn it off and that's it. It is practical, safe and very effective. This little steam cleaner was precisely what I was looking for! The size is perfect, not too big, easy to carry around, but still really strong.
