12X Magnifying Glass with Light and Stand 144 LEDs Brightest Desktop Magnifying Lamp 10 Dimmable Brightness 5 Color

I use this device with the clamp mount and it works really well. I'm working on fine needle stitching work of dark thread on black fabric and this allows me to see easily. The light it nice and bright and not overpowering and not too dim. Lighting is adjustable which is nice in preventing eye strain, allowing you to match light intensity and color best fitting to you environment. The magnifying is nice and clear and I am able to see precisely the strings in the material allowing for near identical stitches. The clamp is padded so it wont scratch the top of things. I chose this for the 12x magnification and it's nice and clear. There are some complaints I read about the base (not the clamp which I use exclusively), about how it is easy to tip over. I felt it balances nice and doesnt fall over. The base is not heavy weighted, to allow for portability. If you tend to move the thing around a lot, you could put something heavy like a book on the base to give it more stability. But I find that I put the it in a position and tend to move my work around, not the lamp. So I did not experience it tipping over in my usage. This product was better than expected. Very sturdy, and the magnifying part is great for these old eyes. I’ve already loaned it out to a neighbor who used it to fix her glasses and she’ll probably get one as well. I use it on my painting table to paint tiny parts of my watercolors. The magnifying light was exactly what I was looking for to replace my old one. I liked the versatility to either use the stand or the clamp. The stand can be a little tippy if reaching to far forward. I probably won’t use the dimming feature, but the light is nice and bright. Read more

I believe this lamp is good value for the price. I needed to replace my old fluorescent magnifying lamp which was bigger, heavier, less magnification and got very warm when I used it for a long time. I needed a magnifying lamp to do electronics work on very small components. This lamp was a good choice. I like the fact that the 12X lens is glass and not plastic (good clear image). The LED's are bright and don't get hot like the fluorescent lamp. I also like the 10 levels of brightness control and 5 levels of "color temperature" control. It is not as big as my previous magnifying lamp but the 4" diameter lens has a reasonable working area with little need to reposition the lens. The focal point is about 4" under the lens, so I can position the lamp above the board I'm soldering, have both hands free and 4" of working room. I comes with two ways to mount the lamp (a heavy base and a mounting clamp). They both work as long a you don't extend the lamp too far from the mounting point. I ended up drilling a hole in a piece of wood to hold the lamp and mounting that to my lab bench. That worked better for me because I often extend the lamp far from the base. Very well made product with both a free-standing circular base plate and a clamp for installation in two different ways. Both the light temperature (color) produced from the LED lamp and the brightness can be adjusted. The magnifying lens is free of distortions and has a fairly wide angle view. These features make this lamp very useful for many different types of projects. The Toolastra company has great communication availabilities with an email address and a US phone number. This is a nice magnifying lighted glass. I am using the clamp to secure it to a sit/stand desk. While the base works, it's prone to tipping over if you over extend the arm. The size of the unit is big enough to be useful for my needs, working with and sculpting fine wire. The light adjustment for both intensity and color is nice, though I pretty much use one setting. This item will serve as a light for my workbench. It is of good quality, BUT, the magnifier holding screw is weak. As I use the product the screw does not hold the optic very well I have to tighten more to get it to stick. IF this goes out I will not purchase again due to this issue. Another issue is the base, it does not have enough weight to support the glass at certain positions. To alleviate this issue, I placed a bottle sealed with liquid to assist in the holding of the lamp/magnifier. Thus the 3 of 5 rating other than those 2 issues it will do the job I needed it to do. Been using this while painting some of miniatures. The magnification is great and being able to select different light-temperatures is really nice to see my work under various whites. Product has so far been pretty sturdy and I've no complaints. Would definitely recommend for painting minis though I'm sure there are other applications that this would serve just as well. Read more
