I love these. I don’t which magic button starts the automatic warming as you unwrap them, but they warm up immediately to a gentle temperature that feels good on the eyes. This is an all round nice product. It does warm up once they’re opened and on your face, but I can’t say there is any steam. I can’t say I felt moisture from them either while wearing. These eye masks are so soothing. I am getting rid of a small stye, and using a mask 4 times a day for about 20 minutes has helped a lot! The product isn’t a cure for anything, but if you want something warm that lasts longer than the heat held by a washcloth, these masks are great! Again, this is NOT a “medicinal” product! But it is very calming, pleasantly warm, and refreshing, and has been a big help for my tired eyes! After the last use before bed, I was able to fall right to sleep, with my eyes feeling no irritation. I did talk to my eye doctor, as everyone should who has any eye problem. You do need scissors to open the individual plastic bag they come in. The bags have tear notches but the plastic is slick and heavy, and I could not tear them open. Very effective product for me!
