I am trying to use more bar soap around the house as it's a bit less wasteful than bottles. I purchased this wooden soap dish set because it looked nice and was one of the only non-toxic options. These hold standard soap bars and come out of the box without any chemical smells, which was wonderful! If you don't like or want to use liquid soap at the bathroom or kitchen sink, these certainly look good and are functional. The slits allow the excess water to drip from the soap, which is great for helping the soap last longer, but it does create a little bit of a mess on a counter (isn't an issue I find in the shower). In the end, I think I prefer the variety with nubs on the top and bottom because the dish doesn't slide around quite as much. Read more

Glad I bought when I did, bought a set for myself and two as Christmas stocking stuffers. I was drawn to the fact they were cedar with no stain or varnish since I had read reviews on other manufactures soap dishes that said they had left a stain on the surface they sat on. Only been using for short time but really like them. Small enough to sit on the shelf in my shower surround but large enough for a bar of soap. They are very spa - like. They are beautifully packaged and smell nice when you open them. Time will tell if they hold up but they look like they will. I recommend this product if they come back in stock. Read more

I love the look of these, and they look GREAT. Though they have 2 purposes. One is served better than the other. First: The dish has 3 slits on top (where the soap sits) and 2 slits on the bottom which run perpendicular to the slits above. The combination of these slits it to dry the soap and drain any excess water that the soap may contain. This purpose works flawlessly. Second: The second purpose is very simple; the dish is meant to be an easy solution to place your soap bar on without a mess, and to remove it with ease. Though it is not easy. The soap bar literally gets stuck/glued to the dish, making it incredibly hard to disconnect the two. I am a healthy male in my 20's. I attend the gym regularly with my prime goal being advancing my upper body strength. I have to put in serious force to disconnect the dish from the bar of soap. So much so that upon disconnection, my hand slipped and I hit my elbow fairly hard on the granite surface of my bathroom vanity. From that point on; I place the soap in an offset position on the dish, so that there is less contact between the dish and soap, allowing for an easier disconnection (though I still find myself wetting my hand and rubbing the surface of the bar for soapiness). Other than that, this is a great, well made product. Definitely game my bathroom a more modern look. I just feel like I had to speak out about the one flaw, as I am sure other customers will experience the same. I have heard the properties of bamboo might lessen this problem. I purchased soap samples from Dr Squatch. I like the soap but I noticed when I let a bar sit on the soap ledge between showers, a noticeable soap print is on the ledge. In fact the print itself is, well, noticeable. I saw Dr Squatch had a soap tray made of the same material as yours but at a higher price. I didn't want to pay a higher price (the soap was costly enough) and I didn't want to lose quality in whichever soap tray I purchased. I compared your tray with Dr Squatch tray and chose yours. I like the look of these and they’re made well. Only qualm is that some of the wood finish coloring came off onto the shower. It does it’s job and is kind of small so it fits in little nooks but I kind of wish it was a bit bigger. I bought two pairs and may buy more for uniformity. Read more
