The media could not be loaded. Smooth is the first word that comes to mind when I ignite the flame. The ignition has just enough tension but not too much. The flame comes out effortless and true. The flame is long enough so that you can pinpoint exactly where to put the point of the flame and strong enough that it doesn't waver. I also appreciate the clear tank so you can see exactly how much fluid you have. I can't stand the ones with the skinny window where you have to hold the lighter at a particular angle to see the level, of course, this is after you have flipped it up and down to see where the level line is. This is a quick look. Easy to see. The recoil on the button is also not so strong that it requires a lot of effort to hold down if you need take a few seconds, but don't forget this a very high temp flame so the lighter will get to hot if held on too long. Hopefully it will last a while. If not the price is so low that you can decide if ordering more of them would be a good idea for you because it works very well. This little torch is GREAT. I've owned several larger and more expensive torches and none of them have performed like these little guys. Of course, the fuel capacity is limited due to the small size of this torch, but that is the only limit. I use torches for burning wood to get a rustic look, melting heat shrink for electrical connections and for soldering electric and gold jewelry. Jewelry soldering, in particular, requires a small (tight), hot flame. This torch is perfect for this purpose and EASILY out performs any others I've owned in the past. Funny side note: I also took one of these to my work Christmas party. I knew I'd be ordering steak and I know its common for steak to be undercooked for large parties so I used this right at the table to get my steak from rare to medium rare. Worked great. Read more

Here's my honest review. They work as intended and I'm good with them. I use them for my cigars and they light just fine. It is a little tricky at first getting the setting just right, but they give enough flame to toast the ends and not catch everything on fire. I also like that they don't use all the butane super fast, Ive been using them for about 2 weeks now and I'm about halfway through the first dill. I don't use the flame on the highest setting, but they are easy to fill and store. I also like that you can twist it closed on the bottom so I don't accidentally ignite it in my pocket as I play fetch with my dogs. Read more
