I have been using this for a few weeks now and it has been flawless. I'm talking every time you pull the trigger it instantly ignites. It's the perfect size, perfect weight, and looks and feels like it's built really sturdy. Also one important thing to me is the fuel adjustment knob Is set perfectly, so at the minimum setting there's no flame, and at the maximum setting it's right about as big as you'd ever want it. Also, realize this is just a grill lighter. You're not going to be braising or soldering with this. Read more
I was looking for a long nosed lighter to light my bbq when I found this lighter/torch for sale. I was a bit leary since this ships with no butane in it for safety in shipping, but I thought Id give it a try. For some reason, Amazon cannot ship butane to California, but eBay can, so I ordered 2 cans of Zippo butane for $9.99. Refilling is very simple and worked well. Lighting the torch is very easy and the flame is adjustable. I don't really see a need to run it full force though. The torch is really built solid and feels like it will last a long time. Read more
Wow, very nice lighter. I was expecting some cheap foreign made stuff and was pleasantly surprised. It feels solid with a nice weight to it, shoots a steady great flame, has a large fuel tank, and feels like it’ll hold up a long time. Very nice, Read more
The lighters arrived on time. They were beautifully wrapped in a nice box. Of course they do not have the butane in them so we had to buy that separately. Now that we've had them for a little while, I have noticed that caution is important 🫣 as they get things very, very hot and fast. The only negative is when held sideways it will sometimes go out and become difficult to relight. Either adding more fuel or turning up the fuel gauge usually fixes this. The lighters are much larger than I expected but overall is a good lighter. We bought this for our kitchen smoker and it works good as long as you don't get it too close to the wood because it has a strong pressure and tends to blow things if it's too close like ash. I'm glad I got it, but it takes a little bit of getting used to. If someone's wondering if it would fit in a small purse or pocket for cigarettes, I think it may be too bulky. Read more
I was excited when I received the item but that changed quickly. The second thing they tell you to do when you get this item is to bleed the air from the tank otherwise it will just push the butane out while you’re trying to fill it. I tried several times to bleed the air to no avail. I emailed the company twice to get help from them as I wanted to keep the item but it had this issue I was hoping they could resolve. Never heard from them. Then I read online that a number of their items have been recalled for exploding, etc. If you are looking for a torch lighter, this is not the one. Caveat emptor! I recommend you shop elsewhere. Read more
Works extremely well and does not get hot at all. After lighting multiple candles, you can stick it right back in the drawer. I've recommended it to multiple people. Being the torch style, it lights instantly when it hits the wick. There's a large, clear view of how much fuel is in the lighter. I've been using it for months, and it has barely used any Read more
I got this because the regular BIC mechanical candle lighters are all so hard to press the button to light. This one takes almost no force. Easy to light. If you set the flame to high then it takes an extra second to go out. But that can be fixed by just adjusting the level a bit lower. So far I'm very happy with this. Read more
I must point out that I did not receive the "long neck" lighter described, I got the lighter depicted in the small "inset photo". I give this item only three stars due to a longevity problem. The lighter I got came apart when I tried lighting it one day. Just pushing the slide control for the igniter button caused it to separate. It won't "snap" back together and the lighting feature has quit. One other deficiency I note is that the viewing windows that are meant to let you see the level of fluid are almost worthless. They are so small, and there's no lighting, so I found the only way was to use a flashlight to see he fluid level. The second of the two in the order seems to be working okay, thus the three stars.
