Dress is beautiful! So much better than expected. The fit is perfect and the quality exceeded expectations. For reference, I’m 5’6 and 117lbs and the small fits perfectly no alterations needed. Gorgeous dress. Not double lined which why 1 less star as well as you def need tape to keep in place. Very cute look sure to get you compliments. Very open back and covered front. Personally could maybe size down from large to Medium despite having a larger chest bc in front was a little large. Comfortable, good wedding guest dress. Medium weight material. I absolutely love this dress. I wont lie and say its perfect but for a satin dress off of Amazon I genuinely dont think you can do better. Its elegant leaf, modest and flattering. The material is also much thicker than I was expecting. I read in other comments that the shoulder area wanted to fall and that garment tape helped so I bought some. I am so so glad I did. It helped me hold the neckline in place and I also used it along the zipper and opposite side seam to fit it to my torso better. I wore it to a wedding and was told it looked like a boutique dress. I had high hopes for this dress, and while there were definitely some positives, the fit and construction let me down. The color was exactly as described and matched the photos perfectly, which I really appreciated. The material was also surprisingly nice—soft, not see-through, and felt great on the skin. The elegant drape on the back was a beautiful touch and added a nice bit of drama to the overall look. However, the design of the front shoulder section was a real issue. It kept slipping down and clearly wasn’t structured to stay in place, which made the dress feel awkward and uncomfortable to wear. Even worse, the zipper was sewn very poorly. It caused the fabric to bunch up and pulled everything around the waist in odd, unflattering directions. It completely threw off the silhouette. I debated on getting this dress in black, & after reading the reviews I decided to - HOWEVER - the dress was NOTHING like advertised! The material was a thin, cheap, polyester fabric, NOT anything like a satin material (as advertised). The neckline had a thin hem that resembled a crew neck T-shirt, not like it was described as an “elegant neckline” in the advertisement. The back wasn’t even open… if anything this was like a very thin t-shirt dress. Don’t buy this if you aren’t willing to take a chance - I wish I wouldn’t have bought it! Some of the other reviews look promising, but those dresses look nothing like the one I received. Read more
I absolutely loved this dress! Everything I was looking for. 145lbs, got a medium. And yes, I taped the shoulders to stay on. But it wasn’t a hassle, it looked perfect. Silk dresses don’t always flatter me, but this one has built in curves that shape you out very nicely! Read more
I HAD SUCH HIGH HOPES FOR THIS DRESS, BECAUSE I SAW IT ON A NOTHER GIRL THAT'S ALSO MIDSIZE LIKE ME. THE DRESS LOOKED SO PROMISSING AND BEAUTIFUL ON HER. HOWEVER, ON ME FOR SOME REASON LOOKED AWFUL IN MY OPINION. I SIZED IT ACCORDING TO THE CHART AND IT SAID TO GO WITH A LARGE. BUT, WHEN I RECEIVED IT, YES IT FIT, BUT IT LOOKED ALL OVER THE PLACE. IT JUST HANGS ON ALL YOUR CURVES BUT NOT IN A GOOD WAY. THE MATERIAL WAS VERY THICK WHICH OK BUT BECAUSE IT WAS SO THICK IT WAS HEAVIER THAT WHAT THE PICTURE MAKES IT OUT TO BE. AND THATS WHY IT JUST HANGS IN ALL THE WRONG PLACES. THE WORST PART FOR ME WAS THE NECKLINE. THE PICTURE AND DESCRIPTION DOESN'T SHOW HOW LOW THE BACK GOES. THIS WENT PAST MY BRAW STRAP IN THE BACK SO YOU REALLY CAN'T WEAR A BRAW YOU HAVE TO WEAR PASTIES OR SOME KING OF SPECIAL BRAW. AND THEN IF YOU TRY AND FIX IT TO LAY HIGHER ON THE BACK YOU'RE LEFT WITH SO MUCH MATERIAL ON THE CHEST PART THAT IT LOOKS REALLY WEARD. I HAD TO STITCH IT IN THE SHOLDERS TO TRY AND PICK UP THE MATERIAL FROM THE BACK SIDE AND NOT BRING ALL THAT MATERIAL TO THE FRONT JUST SO THAT I COULD WEAR IT WITH OUT FEELING SELF CONCIOUS OF THE BACK BEING TOO LOW. ALSO, THE FRONT TUMMY AREA HAS A BIT OF RUCHING SO THAT HELPS A BIT BUT THEN AT THE SAME TIME THE RUCHING MAKES THE DRESS LOOK LIKE ITS TWISTING ON YOUR MIDSECTION. OVERALL, IT DID GET ME THROUGH A WEDDING, BUT WOULDN'T RECOMEND TO BUY OR AT LEAST BUY BUT BE AWEAR THAT YOU MIGHT HAVE TO ETHER SIZE DOWN OR TRY IT ON AND BE PREPARED TO RETURN AND TRY AGAIN ORRRRR MAKE ADJUSTMENTS TO MAKE IT FIT PROPERLY. This dress is SO. GOOD. The material is thick & so soft, not see through at all. I was surprised on how heavy it was, but in a good way. This material is not flimsy at all! It is true to size, I am about 5’4 & 130lbs with smaller bust/larger hips & ordered a size small; it fit great, was not too tight. LISTEN TO THE OTHER REVIEWS THAT SAY DOUBLE SIDED SKIN/FABRIC TAPE IS ESSENTIAL. Go ahead & add it to the cart with the dress so you don’t flash your yiddies to the whole crowd.
