Now that I've reached a "certain age," I'm told that adding some weight training to my fitness routine (I use this term loosely) is important for bone health. So when these passed my eyes, I decided to give them a try. I'm not a big fan of pink, but that's just my personal preference - I think I'd have preferred a color that didn't practically scream, "lady weights!", that's all. These are indeed hefty; they seem to be VERY well made, and even the most challenged among us can swap out the weighted discs with ease. They feel great in the hand, and if I drop one, that's going to be on me, not the textured grip (which will also be easy to clean if I sweat all over them). It doesn't take long to add/remove weight, but if you're the impatient type, you might not like having to take a pause to do so. I'm working on developing a routine that starts with a higher weight and gradually goes lower. Easy to adjust, solidly made, and very versatile - this is my first set of hand weights, and I'm really pleased with this set. I hope I'm even more pleased with the results of using it! Read more
I use these dumbbells all the time. The 4/6/8/10 lb weights are perfect for my fitness level. I love that they are so easy to change and quick as well. This dumbbell set is the best! Firstly, the pink color is so fun and vibrant. It actually makes me look forward to working out. I love that each dumbbell is so easily adjustable, this way I can customize my workout without needing another complete set of weights. The Axqunel 20lb adjustable dumbbell set feels good in your hand. I like the sleek design, but what I have a problem with is the time it takes to change weight amount. I am in a group workout class and these would not work well in that setting if you need to quickly increase or decrease weight between sets. The main reason it takes long is that to change the weight amount you have to individually change the weight on each side of the dumbell. If you are working with 2 dumbells that means you have to change 4 sides. If you don't forsee changing weight amounts often, this is a nice set. I do like the easy release mechanism it uses which is done by sliding the button and twisting the weight a quarter turn. The price of these weights was right at $69 when I ordered them which seems a little pricey to me, but also is on par with other similar weights of this style. Read more
Great set of dumbbells! I got these to use for my home workouts and they are just what I wanted. Both dumbbells go up to 20lbs in weight and can be adjusted to other weights you prefer for different workouts. They are easy to transition, the plates come off by twisting them off. They stay in place really well since they have a lock in mechanism and are also magnetic. The handles are comfortable to hold and provide plenty of room and grip. So far they have been super effective in my workouts and I have enjoyed using them. I love the girly pink color of them, they look so cute in my atvhome gym. They are solid and well made, but I would be easy throwing them down to hard on the ground since the plates are made of plastic. These are a great set of adjustable dumbbells. They make it possible to have various sizes without giving up a lot of storage space. The mechanism works great for attaching and detaching the weights. They are a plastic body, so don’t drop them! They can be combined into one larger dumbbell using all but the end caps and handle for one dumbbell. So the range is even larger than listed. The handles are very nice and large for an ergonomic and comfortable grip. The knurled areas are also very nicely done so they give grip but don’t dig in or cut up your hands. My wife loves this set! I've never been enthusiastic about weight training, and the idea of trying dumbbells was growing within me and these dumbbells become a guide to the world of muscle strength. Their look, feeling in my hands, and balance are so supportive! I love the idea of adding a new plate to track my progress; it's a great way to reward my achievements. So pretty and well made.
