These are great light to medium duty door latches. The steel is sturdy, but pretty thin so I wouldn't plan on using these for any serious security but they are great for pet gates, walkway gates, garage cabinets, and the like. The barrel moves through the latches smoothly and easily. There are no burrs or manufacturing flaws on the latches I received. The electroplating is of decent quality. There is nothing fancy about these, they are strictly utilitarian so if you need something eye pleasing, I would look elsewhere. These are really simple to install and include all the necessary hardware to install them. The provided screws are 3/4 inches long, which is good for light duty applications. I was concerned to see the pin on the barrel was threaded into the barrel, but the connection seems permanent and strong, so something must have been applied to ensure the pin doesn't back out as the latch is used repeatedly. If you're looking for no-nonsense, utility door latches, these are a good buy as you get four in a package. Read more
These work well for what they seemed purpose-built for - a small wooden door latch. I had just some wire closures for my chicken coop nesting doors, and I wanted something easier to manipulate, but secure enough to keep out predators. These latches worked pretty well for this purpose. Pretty easy to install (see note about screws below). I don't think they'd be able to secure a larger door very well, but for a small setup they are a good fit. The sheet-metal/frame portions are not what I'd call thick metal, but maybe they (from the description) mean the bolt itself has been thickened, as it seems pretty robust for what this is. The screws provided are ok, but you have to take it slow and be careful, as they seem brittle. They were able to bite ok into untreated pine, but one of the screws snapped off even with just a manual screwdriver and only moderate pressure. They should hold for thinner wood (like the ~3/4" pine I was dealing with here) once they're in place, but if you are going into something thicker like a 2x4 you might want to use your own larger deck screws or lag bolts to get a better purchase. For the price I think these are a good value, but are for only light-duty use, in my opinion. Read more
The media could not be loaded. These door latches are great for the price. The sheet metal used in the construction was plenty strong and thick enough for basic applications. The threaded handle was glued together somehow (I have a close up picture of it) that prevents it from unscrewing. The latch isn't perfectly circular, which I believe was a design feature because there is a light friction fit that keeps it latched. I tried taking a video showing that it wouldn't unlatch just from wind or vibration. It looks very easy to install. Although I personally would use bigger screws than the ones they provided depending on the application. These latches only cost about 6 dollars, and they definitely aren't build for any heavy duty applications, but for mild to medium duty applications these should work great. The shaft is also rounded at the top so if the door sags slightly or you install it slightly off you should still be able to get the latch in. My recommendation for installing this is to install the one side first and then have the shaft latched while installing the other side. It will ensure it's aligned properly. I believe these latched would provide adequate security for shed doors, but would be wary to trust it on something more depending then that. Read more
These latches would work well to keep a gate or door from blowing open (or closed) from the wind or swinging open if the door is out of level. They would not provide any level of security, especially with the small 9/16" screws provided. The metal is very thin, and the latches are very lightweight as a result. "Heavy Duty” is a real stretch, unless you are trying to contain a small squirrel. The screws are magnetic, so they are likely not stainless and will likely rust with outdoor use. On the positive side, they arrived packaged in a nice plastic case. None of the parts were missing as a result. The fit and finish of the latches is excellent, and they do appear to be stainless steel (slightly magnetic). The latches function perfectly and the bolt locks in place, so I don't think they would open on their own. I will find a use for these, but it will be for a light duty purpose. This product should not be advertised as "Heavy Duty" and not as a "Door Lock Security Device". For light indoor use they are inexpensive and decent quality. Read more
Nice little latch set. Comes with all the hardware you need for installation. Shaft has little ball bearings to keep the fit snug inside the channel so it doesn't flop around and open easily (see photos). Good functionality. Takes some intentional guiding to get it to slide open or closed. Not difficult to slide by any means, but will stay put wherever you leave it based on the added tension. Easy to install and use to keep gates or small doors closed. Metal seem very thick, sturdy and well made. Good value. Read more

Needed some latches to help keep our 2 year old out of our closets. She likes to go in them and make messes. They are working just fine Read more
I got these locks to use on some cabinets and my chicken coop. My first impression is that the locks are nice and work well. The brackets are a little thin if you’re going to use them on an exterior door for security they might be a little too thin. But to hold some cabinets closed or chicken coop doors they work perfectly. The are easy to install with all of the included hardware. They are a good size as well not too big or small. Overall I’d get these again and there a good value for the money. Pros Works well Easy to install Comes with all the hardware Cons The brackets are a little thin Read more
