Immediately after surgery for esophageal hernia, I purchased this as an incentive to cut back on meal portions. It's a perfect size, does a great job. Four stars is generous though, because the sides need to remain higher as on the larger skillets. You can't stir or toss anything but that it gets out of the skillet and over the edge. Very annoying. Manufacturer will like to address this I think, because the skillet size is so perfect - and also very difficult to find! I like it. I use it a lot. Glad I have it. Price is okay. Delivery efficient. Quality great. I ordered a special lid for it. I'm eating a lot less now. It's just a testy little devil! Read more

I like fajita style grilled vegetables - caramelized onions and peppers, stuffed mushrooms etc... wife and kids don't. We have larger cast iron options, but wanted something small to toss on the grill, make a few side veggies, without making a big production of prep, cooking, and cleanup. Voila. I just toss this guy off to the side when grilling and throw a few things in... get what I want and don't have guilt over cooking a bunch of stuff the rest of the family won't eat. After reading reviews, I decided to take the extra time to season the pan over several hours of heating, oiling and cooling. Tomorrow I will prepare lion's mane steaks and see how well that goes. I will update my review after that. Wish me luck! UPDATE: As mentioned by other reviews, the inside surface of the pan is very rough. I found that the mushrooms I cooked in it DID STICK to the inside surface. If you buy a cast iron pan, make sure the inside flat surface is smooth and not rough like this one.
