I didn't want to damage the wall with this hook, so I got these. So far, they sticking perfectly to my painted cinderblock outside - it's been about a week. They are only holding up this small hook + a pool floatie, so probably less than 3 pounds. One of the adhesives to one of the iron hooks did fall off - but the other 2 are strong, so we re-did it since it comes in a pack that has lots of them, let it cure overnight indoors, and it's working so far, and I have hopes that it'll work out just fine because the other two with the exact same setup did. We used clorox wipes to clean the area before sticking to both surfaces, but you might have the best luck with Isopropyl alcohol, which is what the command strips tell you to use. The velcro part actually feels strangely weak, but it's still held on nicely so far.. so maybe its stronger than it feels. Bought a Furbo camera that dispensed treats, that my cat promptly declared war against to get into the treat reserve. A couple of these wonderfully strong strips, and problem solved! They are strong enough to prevent an 18lb cat using his full body weight to try to knock things off a shelf, and still allow me to remove the item myself for required cleaning and maintenance.
