Been using these for years now and they are awesome! Very accurate temperature readings (have tested them against many others). I use them outdoors primarily and they are virtually indestructible. They hold up extremely well to the elements (rain, cold, heat, etc.). Just don't keep them in direct sunlight or you'll get a very inaccurate reading due to the casing holding in excessive heat. When I first got this I found the accuracy to be horrid. The warmer it got the worse the accuracy. Placed alongside 2 other digital thermometers (different models) which I know are accurate and provide readings within 1/2 degree of each other, this one was reading 2-7 degrees warmer. I was about to request a replacement/refund when I noticed a low battery signal so I replaced it with a new one. Presto! It now is very accurate with temperature readings that match the other two thermometers I have. This must have come from very old inventory because there was very little charge remaining on the original battery. At least now I know that when the accuracy starts to degrade it's time to replace the battery. Overall, this is a nice, compact unit that I hang from a screw on our deck. Very easy to read display. Other than the nearly dead battery (which is why I gave it 4 stars instead of 5), I'm pretty pleased with it. Read more

The suction cup doesn't hold on a freshly cleaned window so the thermometer fell about 1m and broke. It didn't measure the temperature close to any of my other thermometers anyway - at least 5° different from my other two that are within 1° of each other. Also, it only reads in Fahrenheit so it's a hassle to convert every time in Canada. This purchase had two jobs; hang on the window and read the temperature. It failed at both. On the positive side, the display was easy to read for the few minutes it hung on the window. Summary: 1. Only reads in Fahrenheit. 2. Easy to read the display. 3. Doesn't read temperature accurately. 4. Suction cup doesn't work. 5. Housing is fragile. 6. Waste of money. 7. Has only two jobs - doesn't do either. Read more

We do a lot of road trips and often sleep in the car. I also travel a lot for work and keep materials in my car which are temperature dependent. I wanted something I could use in there that would monitor the temperature without me having to have the car on . For that, it works. It's always within a degree of my car thermometer so it appears to be accurate. It provides you with a high and low and obviously the current temperature. I don't know what the time frame is over which it measures the extremes. I thought I wanted something very simple but now that I have it, I do wish I had bought something with a few more features. I do not like that it doesn't light up at all. It's kind of strange that there's no button anywhere to do that. It's very difficult to read in dim light. Really it can only be read in daylight. I also wish it would have bells and whistles like a barometer and dew point. It doesn't seem particularly sturdy but nor does it seem flimsy. If you are looking for a very simple piece of equipment to just tell you the temperature in daylight this will do the trick though I feel it's a bit overpriced. You might want to shop around a little bit to see other options out there. For a little bit more money I could have gotten all those other features. Read more

Update: After some use, I noticed mine always reads 5 degrees higher than the actual temperature. Although pretty consistant, but a bit inconvience. I still give it 5 stars. I bought this one to replace a broken le Crosse outdoor thermometer. This one is much easier to read, suction cup works better than the double sided sticking tape. The thermometer is inside a plastic pouch making it water resistant. Nice product! Read more

I hesitate to write this review. The AcuRite is so inexpensive & very easy to put up, but keep it away from a sunny room or it will read 106 degrees hot! I think the suction cup is inadequately small - so it dries up & falls off all the time. I'd rather they made it bigger & with a stronger suction cup. I'd be willing to pay more for that. it's nice , small & day to read. Read more

I got this so i would know how cold it got the night before. It works good for that, since i haven't found any website etc that can tell me that. I just like to know how cold it got. Now for day time make sure this doesn't see any direct sun or your temp reading will be way off. This goes for most thermometers but i still have yet to find a window that sees no direct sun. So my high for the day is usually off. But all in all a good buy. Read more
