Very well made and nice looking dog collar
I bought this collar for my, soon to be, four year old 15" Beagle. She was still wearing her first collar from when she was a pup and it was getting pretty worn and on the last adjustment hole. The local pet store I frequent did not have a very good selection so I decided to take a chance on Amazon even though I knew going in I might need to return a few to get one that fit and/or was the quality I was looking for. Ends up the first one hit on all marks. This is a very well made leather collar and that is coming from a guy who has had many dogs in my 68 years and I have always been a leather collar person. I just like the way they look on a dog. They add a bit of class, not unlike a leather jacket on a human, and this one is no exception either. It is a fine looking collar made from high quality leather. One thing I was worried about, and the main reason I like to shop local to choose a collar, is whether or not the collar would be too heavy. Mabel, my Beagle, was the runt of the litter and even though she is a 15" Beagle, she has a light frame and not a stocky build like most Beagles. At 3/4" this collar is twice the width of her previous one and the loop and buckle are both a heavier grade as well. Still, in the end the overall weight is just about right. I would have liked to have gotten a model with a top leash loop but wanted to avoid the extra weight and glad I did. Besides, I usually put her harness on when I walk her anyway since she tends to follow her nose a lot going into bushes where I need to pull her back and prefer not to put that much stress on her neck.
