This is a GREAT dog bed & it is very reasonably priced! I adopted a 55 lb APBT from our local shelter & needed a dog bed for him to use upstairs in a window seat. I found this one & ordered it. The mattress is the egg-crate style, and you can get an idea of the depth of it from the photo. It measures 4" with the cover on. The 1st one that was sent to me had an issue with one end from the way it was folded during shipping & it wouldn't regain its shape. I did an exchange online because I really liked the bed & was promptly sent a replacement. Super easy - just took the original one to the UPS store & they scanned my code. The replacement they sent at first looked like it was going to have the same issue on one end; however, I was able to just pull gently on the apex of a few of the points & they popped back up like they're supposed to be. So please, if you purchase this dog bed & you think it's smashed where it's folded, give it a try first - just gently pull on the top of the few points & they will likely pop back up like a memory foam should. The inside of the cover is like a vinyl-type fabric. This would give it the waterproof aspect. The top is sherpa. And the bottom is a smooth fabric with little dots on it. I tried to take photos of each part. The mattress will come folded up in a small box. I allowed it to lay out overnight to air out & regain its shape before putting the cover on it. The cover zips all the way around making it very easy to remove & throw in the washer. I wash it in the washer but allow it to air dry for better wear over time. And my dog LOVES this bed. We made a window seat in front of the large windows in the upstairs primary bedroom. It allows him to look out over his kingdom (like a cat!) LOL. It's his favorite place to lay. I just had a one inch mat on it before, but when I put this on, he was in heaven. He takes a 2 to3 hour nap on it every afternoon, and he has gone from sleeping in our bed to sleeping on the window seat on his new bed. We got the large one. It is a very comfortable bed, and it is very well made. I cannot attest to the waterproof or chew-proof ability of the bed as our dog does not have accidents & he doesn't chew on anything. From the feel of the inside of the cover, it appears solidly waterproof. I can also tell when I take the cover out of the washing machine. I would recommend this bed to anyone looking for a comfy place for their pup to lay. I am very happy with this purchase, and you can't beat the price or the service from the seller. Read more

I bought 2 of these beds in XL to put on the patio for my enormous dogs and I really like it, but more importantly it looks like my dogs like it, too! It's not very thick but the dogs don't seem to mind, and the top is soft and fluffy. I like that it's waterproof and the cover can be washed. Very nice dog bed, and at a very reasonable price!!! I have had this bed for a about a week now and my dogs absolutely love it. I have two mini dachshunds ages 13 and 14. Both in good health but I worry about their spines since we lost our third mini three years ago to a spinal issue. The bed seems to be good quality, I did have one minor issue that I will get to in a minute. The bed comes compressed, so it is completely flat when it arrives. It was fully expanded in about an hour, if it even took that long. There is no bad smell to the bed like some have. The material is very soft on the top and the bottom is durable. The zipper makes it easy to open and take the pad out so the cover can be washed. Now to my issue. My dog threw up on it the other day and it is water proof and it did not soak through to padding. That is a huge plus. I removed the cover with ease and I added it to the wash as per the recommended wash instructions. I washed it with towels that I used to give the dogs a bath that same day. When I removed the cover from the dryer and unzipped it to put the cushion back on the inside waterproof material has holes in it now. Now I am not 100% sure if that was caused by the washing or if they were there when I received it. The padding was already in the cover when it came, so I didn't open it to look. I also did not notice them when I removed the pad before washing it. So anyway, that is why it is lacking a star. So just beware when you wash the cover. Make sure there are no defects before putting it in the wash. I am afraid now that the spots that have the holes will continue to rip when my dogs wiggle around on the bed. Read more
