She wanted another small white polka dot umbrella on a black, blue, or dark purple canopy. I looked at a lot of umbrellas, several were larger polka dots, and very few were smaller polka dots. I finally found this one that was navy blue and small white polka dots... I decided that 10 ribs of reinforced fiberglass might survive winds better so I ordered it. The umbrella was "perfect" for her criteria... it appears to be well made, auto open and close is a nice feature, and 10 ribs should be sturdier than 8 metal ribs. I ordered this particular umbrella because of it opening and closing automatically. It opens very quickly, but it is hard to close. I am not sure if I would purchase this umbrella again for that reason. Read more

This umbrella is so cute! My only gripe is that the auto close doesn't close it completely, it only collapses it. So to close it you have to push it back down into the handle and the spring is so tight it's not easy to do! But I'm going to keep it because I love the color and pattern. Read more
