Excellent Quality stand - I put this all-metal stand at a "Studio Quality" rating. This stand is built to hold up to regular use and shrug it off. Honest steel and hard aluminum, even the setscrew is a generous diameter steel, knurled thumbscrew (as with anything - don't overtighten, it works great with normal pressure). The base stays level and has 4 pads of silicone rubber as non-skids, and the top "stand" is metal with a curved 'shelf' to retain devices - and has 2 silicone rubber non-skid in the curl and another 2 at the top. My iPhone 12 is retained securely either upright or horizontal - I said "pads" for a reason: the non-skids aren't little "dots", even they are generous, so they'll last. The only point f future failure that I see is the tilt mechanism. It appears to be friction on nylon bushings. This will last a long time, but I don't see a way to adjust it. However, for the price I couldn't believe the quality of this stand - it is BUILT! 😁 One caution - I put this for Smartphone and SMALL Tablet. I wouldn't try to put my Kindle Fire on it - it's just not big enough. But for even the largest Smartphone, or tablets of that size, it is GREAT! I already have purchased another 2 to place around the house - oine on my nightstand, one in the living room, and one by my wife's computer. I may have to get some more ... addictive stands? This item is indeed smaller than it looks in the main picture on the order screen. If you watch the posted video, you can see it's smaller. I like that it is smaller because the picture made it look like the base is massive and instead it's actually a good, sleek looking form factor with a nice metal finish. In its case, my ipad is 10"x7.5." The case edge is ~1/4." It's this kind of case: https://www.amazon.com/ProCase-Generation-Stand-Shell-Protective/dp/B07XXZP2CK. I can use the stand with my ipad vertical or horizontal and it is stable. I can use the touchscreen in a normal way with my normal finger pressure and the stand is stable. It fits in the stand in the case (with the top cover of the case flipped over the back of the stand). I rated the versatility as a 4 because the only thing I mind about the size is that I wish it adjusted up just a couple of inches higher than it does. Sitting in my desk chair, with the stand on an adjacent surface that is 5" higher, I can do meetings fine, my face is centered in the screen. I'm 5'2. Taller people will need more stackers. Using this standing up, I'll need stackers. All fine, lots of things around the house that make good-looking stackers. Read more

This is a fantastic stand for iPads or iPhone's I use it for videos and FaceTime calls never moves or shifts once in place! It’s got a sturdy non easy tip base! Fully adjustable angles and quite a lot of hight with the extended option and it’s still very sturdy. I already have 2 and I might get one more for the last one in the house that does not have one. I prefer using my 10 inch tablet over my phone, but most stands are designed for the smaller phones, and not to accommodate the extra width or weight of tablets, so they become unsteady. This stand is physically larger, has a 5 inch round base, and 3 1/8 inch wide tray. The mechanism adjusts easily, and has just the right amount of friction for the tablet to be stable once set. The extra width and heft of the stand eliminates any wobble. The stand also rotates 360 degrees with a racheting mechanism. For travel purposes, it weighs 9.75 oz. Very happy with the stand. I spent 20 mins. picking it out and it's right at the junction of price, design and function. It's very sturdy and well made. Holds both a phone and a small (9 inch) tablet very well. You never get the feeling you'll knock it over (or the tablet out of the cradle) by tapping too hard in an upper corner. I wanted to love this stand, but it's a disaster for my iPad Air 4. Unstable, it falls over unless I have the iPad standing almost straight up. It needs a wider and heavier base for stability. Poor design overall. I regret getting this. UPDATE: the seller contacted me about my concerns and refunded my purchase price. While I still do not think this stand is adequate for a tablet larger than an iPad mini, it is built well and would work for a phone or smaller tablet.
