I needed more light in our basement. I bought a total of 4 of these. They are light, easy to install and very bright. My only complaint is the connector (if you are doing two together) could give more than one length -- it would have been nice to have a shorter option. Also, the cord that plugs in is not very long. I ended up plugging it into a powerstrip I attached to the ceiling and then bought a plug/switch where you plug in the light and than you have a separate switch which is wireless. This solution is brilliant since I could just plug in the light and not worry about the on/off switch since I had the separate switch that attaches to the wall wirelessly. Overall it was a cheap solution for our basement instead of having to install permanent lights. Read more

These overhead lights were highly recommended to me by my adult daughter, as we are both seamstresses and are fortunate enough to have a dedicated space in our homes to accommodate us. In both cases, those spaces are sewing "rooms" located in our finished basements that needed some finishing touches to make the space usable for such work. These lights fit the bill perfectly, especially given the fact that my home is electrically sound, and I did not want to hard wire anything to upset the balance. I have 2 of these lights. They are bright cold and easy to install. I was trying to order a 36W and first got a 2ft then a 4ft. Even the 4ft box said 36 wide. I'll use them because I simply need more light in the kitchen. They'd be good for workshops. I wouldn't order for any room that you wanted to look warm and inviting. The cord is particularly ugly and short. However I'm giving 4 stars because it came fast, is what it described and I'll assume the size mix up was my own mistake, both times. Read more
