Beautiful and comfortable. Needed slight alterations in hem I'm 5ft 3in. And shoulders. No Spanx needed! Color dark navy. Glitter very minor as far as coming off. Originally saw in high end clothing store but wanted the navy. Amazon only place to order navy in my size. Brand name and fit same as high end but at less price. I ordered the electric blue in sizes 12 and 14. I received navy blue and not the electric blue I ordered. I am 5'4", 147 pounds and the 12 and 14 both fit. The 12 is a touch tighter, but still looks good and felt comfortable. Both jackets fit fine. They do have shoulder pads in them as well. The shoulder straps on both dresses could be pulled up a bit in alteration. It would have to be pulled up more on the 14 than the 12 in my case and the length on both is the same and definitely needs to be shortened for me. With the larger size, the bodice could be taken in a touch on the sides for me, but everything except the length could be fine without altering if the jacket was worn all the time, which I will be doing anyway. On one, it is clear that the person sewing the neckline pulled the material too tightly as there is a small spot right in the middle that is slightly stretched and so does not lay perfectly flat against the chest. What people say about the glitter is true. It does shed off the dress and I had glitter all over the floor after trying both of them on. The glitter is very fine though. I don't know what color the glitter is on the other colors of dresses, but the glitter on the navy blue ones I received is blue so it doesn't stand out like you have silver specks all over you. I like that it blends in but is still sparkly. They seem to be decently made. They are made in China, unfortunately. review Alex Evenings had always been a brand I could count on, but this dress cost me more to have it altered than what I paid for it. Unfortunately what I thought would be simple alterations ended up being a "remake of the dress". For a petite size the bodice of the dress was very wide and loose. The hem was 1" shorter on one side of the dress than the front and back of the dress. The jacket was big and had to take it in on the sides and arms. The neckline was so wide to make it fit had to add a small pleat in the center front. Alex Evenings gowns have always fit me very well and had been a quality brand. I found this dress to be exception, sadly, I can only give this dress 1 star. Read more

I wore this to my daughter's wedding and liked it. I took it outside and shook it well to get off the extra glitter. I did take it to my local dry cleaner to press it as the skirt material was wrinkled and a hand steamer wasn't working. Best $12.50 spent. I had the straps altered for $34 as they were a bit long. I ordered 12P and I am 5'5" and 154 lb and it fit well. Length came to just above my ankle. Read more

I bought this as a mother-of-the-bride dress for my daughter’s wedding. It was very comfortable and I thought I looked nice in it. I bought a size 14, I weigh 170 pounds and am 5’4” tall.
