I love this coat because I'm a huge fan of double breasted hooded wool peacoats with a belt. Finding all these elements in a peacoat at a reasonable price is more difficult than I had anticipated. I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of the coat when it arrived because it has some weight to it. It's very warm and even though I love to layer, it's not necessary most of the time. It fits loose enough that I'm able to layer, but still looks nice and fits well by itself. The buttons are attached well and the stitching looks good. The only con is the hood which is rather large without any drawstring or Velcro flap to fit it to your head a little better. When I do pull it forward, the fur tends to tickle my face which is a little annoying. Otherwise, it's a fantastic coat that I'm happy I purchased. Read more
This coat is beautiful, well made, warm, and runs true to size! I wanted a less dressy coat than the one I have for more everyday wear. After looking at many I decided on this one. I love it. I did double check my measurements against their size chart for an excellent fit, it runs true to size. It is a wool blend so it does keep you warm! So far loving this coat. While it is decently heavy, based on some the reviews I expected more. I live in a place where it can easily be 20 to 40 below zero, so I was looking for something thick and heavy that would be good for layering over other stuff when needed, but sufficient on its own sometimes too. This does the job and looks nice which is a hard combo to find. I am plus size so finding a nice looking and warm coat is hard. My only complaint is that one of the buttons popped off pretty fast but it'll be easy enough to sew back on I guess. For the price, can't complain too much really. Read more
I ordered an xl and it came perfectly a little too big! I probably could have worn a size large, but the xl ensured that I could easily wear a hoodie or puffy sweater underneath. It was quite warm and I loved the length! The hood on it is very generously sized so even with a ponytail my hood still nicely covered my face from the wind and rain. This jacket was almost perfect for our trip to Portland where there was rain, snow and hail while we were there. The only 2 tiny issues I had were that the first day I wore it a button popped off. I will reattach all the buttons now that I am home to ensure they stay on. The other issue/nonissue is that this jacket was heavy! But it is a wool coat... not some little sweater like I am use to in our much warmer part of California. So other than my weak arms and the buttons, this coat is roasty toasty perfection!!! Read more
As I unwrapped it, the fur was all over the inside of the bag. A light tug and the fur falls out, no way this jacket is lasting even a year. Some of the buttons came loose, I could tell from other reviewers they would fall off in the near future. Then the worst part, I had my girlfriend try it on, the jacket is shaped like a bell, it's oddly (and very insanely) large at the bottom and I can't imagine who it would fit and look correct. The model you see in the pictures can't be the same jacket, it looks similar, but I would put money down it's not the same. As you can guess, this went right back in the package and got sent back. Just got the jacket last night and I LOVE it! It is exceptionally warm. It is very dense and heavy but I’m okay with that since it is so snug. The arms are a bit big but again that doesn’t bother me since it looks and feels great and gets the job done. Material seems strong / good quality too. The faux fur sheds a bit. The only thing I don't like about this coat is that the material on the outside attracts lint etc, more than usual. Other than that, mine is very warm, nicely made, and fits well. The quilted lining is really nice. It is a heavyweight coat. UPDATE: After a little over one year of use, I would not recommend. I have to spend too much time removing lint and pills. It has been a pill/lint magnet for me. I use a fuzz shaver, but it is just too much. Read more
It's too large, but a nice jacket. I am usually a Medium/Large, but I like my winter coats on the slimmer side and I was swimming in this medium (I could have worn the bulkiest sweater possibly and still had room). For reference I am 5'4" 160lbs. Had it buttoned up and trying to use the sash just made it look bulkier. Also, the back slit is uncharacteristically long... like half way up my butt, slightly awkward. I guarantee this jacket will work for some, but it wasn't for me. Order down a size, and if you're an in-between like me then order down a size from your smallest. Read more
