Amazon Basics Programmable Coffeemaker with Carafe and Reusable Filter Stainless Steel 12 Cups Black

I bought this coffee maker to replace a brand name coffee maker, and this coffee maker works very well. I wasn't sure what to expect of an Amazon brand coffee maker, but I am definitely satisfied. It is durable, it works well, and while it comes with a reusable filter, I use disposable filters in the coffee maker and the coffee maker still works very well with them. Overall, this coffee maker is a solid workhorse. It has some advanced settings although I just use the standard brewing setting. But it's suitable to a home environment, office environment, field or job site environment, or anywhere else where people could use a cup of coffee. Also, it can survive power outages. Not something I wish I had to write, but it might be useful to include. This being said, plug it directly into a wall outlet. It will survive a standard wall outlet through thunderstorms in most circumstances. Anyway, I highly recommend this coffee maker for your office, field site, or wherever you need a cup of coffee. Makes good coffee, but display failed after less than a month. I like the reusable basket, as long as you make coffee manually it works great. But, after less than a month the display failed and now it just shows 18:88, and it can't be changed. I assume it was due to a power failure we had a few weeks ago and it has been that way for a while now. I noticed it a few weeks ago, but I just looked into returning it today...2 days too late. Can't say I would buy another Amazon product? Update: after exactly 90 days had another brief power failure but this time everything went black, no display, no LEDs, buttons don't work and coffee maker is ALWAYS ON!! Just glad it did not start a fire. Won't be buying Amazon Basics again. Read more

The coffee maker works fairly well, it brews a decent cup of coffee. It is easy to use and pretty easy to clean. The reusable filter... like all reusable coffee filters, still needs an actual coffee filter to be used with it unless you want fine grounds in the bottom of your cup. I put a regular filter under the reusable one, and as you can see in my picture, there is a noticeable amount of coffee grounds that get through the reusable filter. In addition to that, the clock part is a little weirdly sized, it seems a little too big for the hole it fits into, so the edges of the numbers are almost covered unless you look at it directly straight on. The pot pours pretty nicely, but fits into the machine quite snugly, so you have to be careful pulling it out or you can pull the whole machine off of the counter. That being said, only one of the feet on the bottom of the machine has a rubber foot in it, so it slides around very easily. It should have the rubber pad on all of the feet to keep it from sliding around. Overall, it does what you need it to do, but it could have been designed better. Read more

It's a basic regular coffee pot. It's done the job for a while now. Hasn't burned out like the black decker I had before. Not as good as the kuerigs, but I like that there's always coffee ready instead of having to make it it each cup. Read more
