I can only surmise that I've developed an unwarranted skepticism, probably caused by global warming. This unit works very well and as advertised. Lite weight and easy to use but I found. installing the batteries a particular challenge - could not get the battery cover off without resorting to a fine blade knife. Read more
We've bought a few thermometers since the start of covid. This is the best one we've come across at a reasonable price point. Easy to use, easy to read, and seems more accurate than the last 2 we purchased. It also feels much more professional than the others. Read more
This unit works very simple, and easy. The only complaint is installing the battery could have been easier. The cover is hard to get off, a simple string under the battery compartment to release batteries would have made it easier. designer went for looks and not for functionality. Read more

I've had this product for two years and use it in my home for adults and toddlers. It does an okay job with reading temperatures. It doesn't feel extremely accurate but if someone has a fever it usually turns orange to indicate. My issue is that it no longer beeps and randomly switches to celsius but won't change back according to directions. It has always randomly changed to celsius and sometimes I can get it back to fahrenheit. I think the fact that the scan button is the only way to change this feature but is also how you turn it on and off and scan, makes it a bad feature. I would opt for one that has a separate button for changing to celsius and fahrenheit. Read more
I like the low price and its simplicity. It's easy to operate; turn it on, wait for it to beep, place it in front of your forehead...about half an inch or so..., press the button once, let go and wait for the beep. It's accurate when compared to an analog thermometer which goes under the tongue. And you can't beat the price, $25 as of my writing this review, plus a 20 percent discount. It has worked fine for us, and I recommend it. Read more
I can take my own temperature as long as the batteries work. It is not breakable and doesn’t contain mercury so it is safe around children. I am a single adult and having to have batteries that work is a hassle. The old type thermometer works fine for me but I can read tiny numbers. If you have vision problems, the newer kind of thermometer is superior-just be sure to keep working batteries! Read more
